In today’s morning satsang, Paramahamsa Nithyananda (Swamiji) cautions his [[sangha]] to stand fast in their commitments. Many people feel they can take one holiday from practice: “just for today” they can miss the class, break the fast, relax the vow, whatever commitment they have made can be dropped for just one day. Nithyananda warns his devotees that this one moment of laziness, of falling out of integrity, destroys all dedication and all achievements of penance. That small moment can shake mountains. When devotees make a sacrifice, they are taking responsibility for their circumstances. Standing fast in the fire of sacrifice gives the understanding of eternal life. The guru has ultimate expectations for his followers: it is their responsibility to stretch themselves to meet his vision of their potential. That is the true meaning of “surrendering to the guru”.

Today Makara Sankranthi, Pongal festival. I Bless you all on this auspicious Makara Sankranthi and Pongal festival. Let everything be auspicious. Today the sun take Uttarayana. From today it is very auspicious 6 months. Actually yesterday morning itself the Uttarayana started. Just after Kalabhairava said, I went and verified the calendar. Yesterday morning Uttarayana started, that is why the Makara Jyothi festival was held yesterday itself in Sabari Mala. And if you observed today, for the first time the sun rays came inside the garba mandir on the face. And today in Arunachala temple, sun rays enters the garba mandir and worships Arunachaleshwara every year. Every year on this day, only on this day sun rays enter garba mandir of Arunachaleshwara and worships Mahadeva directly. So let the grace f Surya/Sun be on all of us.

I have never seen sun rays entering garba mandir and directly falling in the face. Great! And I also wanted to offer my condolences to Sri Sri Sri Balaganagadharanatha Swamiji the pontiff of Adi chunchanagiri samsthana mutt. He passed away yesterday night..evening. Yesterday evening He left the body in his own hospital – BGS hospital and his age is 68. All of you should know, He was like our elder brother, father, guide and amazing supporter from day one I came to Bangalore. It is He who insisted that I should stay in Bangalore and He inaugurated our Dhyanapeetam understand the Day 1 2003 January 1st when we had nothing. nothing more than half an acre of the Bidadi banyan tree. Please understand Jan 5th to 2003 only we go this land. January 1st of 2003, we had only that half an acre bit of the banyan tree. Only that was our possession and nothing else, He came and inaugurated the ashram, Blessed, stood by us, supported us, He was a great support from the day 1 till his last days. I offer my condolences on behalf of me and Dhyanapeetam and I also offer my prayers to Kalabhairava who is He kshetra devata of the chunchanagiri kshetra. Let Swamiji’s soul rest in peace.

I can remember 1000 sweet memories of Him. Fortunately this village, where we are our ashram this village is called Banadur which is his birth place. And in initial level, when we had some oppositions or problems, He stood by us so strongly, of course He stood by us till the end in all best possible way in every small event eve if there are only 100, 200 people are going to gather, He will come attend the event and He will tell me ‘I am always standing by you Swamiji’. Once He came to our event even without even me inviting. He said ‘ I heard you were doing this program and I was driving by this side and I wanted to come and attend’. He came and attended and went. I said, “Swamiji it is disrespect to you. Why did you come even without me even inviting or organizing? At least if you had informed me, I would have organized”. He told me, “I heard there are few local people trying to oppose you and if I come and stand by you, they will not oppose you. That’s why I came”. I still remember not local villages, local villages from the beginning they gave instructions, all the local villages are his family relatives. He gave them instruction to support and stand by us. They always stood by us. There were some miscreants anti-social elements, they came and tried to create problem. He came voluntarily and stood by us protecting, defending us in so many ways. And I still remember, once there was a function in Bidadi. They were giving Tula bhara, giving his equal weight silver for him. So there was a huge flower palki, palanquin decorated for him. He was supposed to go in the procession. Everything was ready, He came and before He sat on the procession, He called the organizers and asked them, ‘Did you invite Nithyananda Swami?’. They said No. He said what do you mean? He is the local head. Call Him. Organizers came running to Bidadi to the ashram, saying Swamiji has come, He is not getting into the Palki, He is waiting for you in the car. So I was taking the class and I had to drop everything and run because Swamiji called. When I went there He said, sit with me in the Palki. I said, Swamiji, “How can I sit equal to you? Please I will come by walk behind you”. He said ‘No, sit with Me’. Still we have photos and videos where He made me sit next to him. Actually I sat opposite to him even after getting into the palki. He said No, come sit here. He made me sit next to him, made me sit and then He told me “only if I tell the people, local people will respect you. So, I want you to sit next to me. Through this I want to make a statement to people, that they should respect you.  And always from the beginning He showered so much of love on us, support. He had a pet dog in his school. The dog was named as Kalabhairava. The dog was trained to bite strangers. But the dog was so connected with me because I go so many times there, it started feeling that I am an insider. I stay there. So, when I go, they don’t tie the dog. See they have a rule, any stranger,, guest comes they will tie the dog, because it is trained to  bite strangers. It was trained to bite strangers. A German dog, but when I go there they don’t tie the dog because it comes and touches my feet and never feels that I am a stranger. And never ever left me and ate. Whenever I go, if we call the ashram and tell I am coming, He will not eat, He will wait for me. He is a diabetic patient at least I can count 10 times, I delayed his meal. Being a diabetic patient, I tell him, Swamiji no, please you eat, you don’t wait, you eat. He will say No. and He will wait. The amazing personal love is his contribution to Hinduism and Vedic tradition and unimaginable personal love. I literally enjoyed the feeling of father and elder brother with him. And really I miss him. He was such a big support not only in personal level but in social level also. Today He is no more but you should know Bheeshma waited for Uttarayana and left the body. He also waited and yesterday morning Uttarayana happened. Actually yesterday night when I heard the news, He left the body, I was telling all the ashramites, Oh God, He could have waited for one more day, today was Uttarayana. I was thinking He could have left the body in Uttarayana. That morning Kalabhairava Darshan, Kalabhairava said, ‘No Uttarayana was pulled yesterday itself’. Then when I went and referred, I saw yes, yesterday itself, Sabari mala Makara Sankranthi festival is over. Means yesterday morning itself Uttarayana has started. So He waited exactly on Uttarayana, exactly at the time of Makara Jyothi Makara sankranthi left the body like Bheeshma . It is called the sun taking the north turn, sun starts moving to towards the north and his guru Balagangadhar swami’s guru Tiruchy Swamigal, He also left the body exactly on Uttaryana day, Pongal Today. So both of them will have guru puja on the same day.

And his guru Balagangadhar Swamiji’s guru Trichy swamigal he also left the body exactly on Uttarayana day pongal today, so both of them will be having guru pooja on the same day every year. And still I remember thousands of sweet moments with him I offer condolences in behalf of me and Dhyanapeetam once again to him and all the people who are missing he is the father of a great sampradaya so I offer my condolences for all of them I offer my prayers to Kalabhairava may swami’s soul rest in peace. May his soul rest in peace. So my blessings for all of you on makara sankranti “Iniya Thai pongal Nalvazthukal” you guys can see the photograph of suryapooja sun entering the garbhamandir directly on the space. Only on the face you see uhh?? Woww great. All right today nirhara samyama second level 7th day. Today i am filled with my memory really to tell you honestly I have to share so many things because when I had the fracture we rushed to his hospital only in 10 minutes in 10 minutes he called me personally. Even I will be not able to reach somebody in 10 minutes in any emergency his sangha his organization is 100 times bigger than ours. In 10 minutes he came online personally saying swamiji how are you how is your body, I said swamiji there is no pain. He laughed and said who asked you I know you will not have pain i am only asking you are you conscious or are you in some other state. Haha…that’s all he asked me even before I reached the hospital actually we informed his PRO that we are reaching his hospital even before we reached he called me and he called and told the PRO the hospital people to take care and when I was very adamant that doctors should do surgery on your hand without anesthesia he called me and said don’t behave like a child allow them to give anesthesia. No he had that much influence over me command over me. He said if you want to see the surgery I will tell them to make a video and record you see later on have anesthesia because doctors are afraid because of his advice only finally I accepted to have that partial anesthesia local anesthesia and nobody knows this information now I should reveal it now, he even offered huge money when we started the ashram for me to build the sangha and whatever I required I did not accept but he offered huge money first he gave as donation when I said no swamiji when I politely denied whatever people giving donations to me having benefits from me I will build the sangha with that money I refused politely then he said if you are having self confidence and self respect take it as a interest free loan give me when you can. Even that very politely I refused he said hurray I know your potentiality don’t waste your time in intial seed money for initial seed money you are wasting time all that 2 -3 years wasted. I know what I give you will make people will make 1000 times more I will accept at that time when you have give me back without interest take it as a interest free loan first he gave me as a donation only when I said I don’t want I know you are a guy with self respect then at least take it as an interest free loan I refused even that with all my politeness and respect then he said whatever buildings you want I will send my disciples and make them construct I said swamiji I only want to receive moral support and blessings from you nothing else he had so much of respect so much of respect for me and supporting till the end he always stood by us always stood by us i am just filled with his memories from he stood by us a pillar and the love he showed he is a great visionary and come to conclusion about the people potentiality. Start the satsang now today's subject again i am continuing on Authenticity based on Kathopanishad lets enter in to authenticity so yesterday I was expanding on the 15th verse of katopanishad where Upanishad says great souled Yama Mahatma being well pleased said to Nachiketha I give you now another boon this fire sacrifice shall be name after you take also this garland of many colours means Navaratna mala he gives Navaratna mala. So Mahadeva please understand Iam addressing Yama as Mahadeva because he does the job of guru shiva till now I addressed him as aacharya iam now addressing him as Mahadeva because Kaala is doing the job of Kaala kaala. Kaala is doing the job of Kaala kaala means he who performsthis Nachiketha fire sacrifice three times being united with the three  mother father and teacher and who fulfils the threefold duty study of the Vedas sacrifice and arms giving cross over the birth and death knowing this worshipfull shining fire born of Brahman realising this he attains eternal peace.
  
Today, fifth day of the Nithyananda Brahmotsavam!  My deity has been decorated as representing, depicting the enlightenment experience in Pavizhakundru, Thiruvannamalai, the “Pavizhakundru Anubhava Leelai”. On that day, I had an enlightenment experience at the age of twelve, in Vaikaashi month, Poornima Thithi, Vaikaashi Vishaakham.

What a verse. I need to expand on this verse because this verse has the secret of the whole process He who performs the nachiketha fire sacrifice three times why three times? The sacrifice is powerful enough once is enough why 3 times even there is some mistakes once some mistakes twice third time all 3 times there will not be mistakes. Its like a factor of safety having insurance and insurance for the insurance company. You insure in one company you insure in another company if the insurance of this company goes bankrupt this is like a three layer insurances. That is why three times see it is an very important thing its like a you should make sure the visa is proper this Yagnaa even if there is no proper visa and reach the country they will send you back the homeland. But this Yaagna you think you performed and go there and they say no no your account is its not recorded in your account what will you do? You cannot comeback also so just to avoid these kind of difficulties you have to perform three times. Make sure it is recorded. Being united with the three mother, father and teacher why? Being united with the three means you have completed with all the three I will tell you if you have completed with all the three you have restored integrity you just restore your integrity. If you are not complete with all three all three will not feel comfortable around you and you wil not feel comfortable around them they will not be able to spend time around the yagnaa.

And all the gods and goddesses are also still present for Thiru Kalyanotsava. So, all the Saptha Moorthis are gracing, blessing all of us. Let us receive their blessings and then enter into the satsangh.

Although he realized that his father’s harsh reply was only an expression of a momentary outburst of anger. This line means Nachiketa is not foolishly

his anyakaara as morality or ethics of the society. He is doing it with authenticity.There are ethics of society where it says, literally follow whatever

your dad says. He is not doing it in that way. That is why rishi records, Nachiketa knows father is angry and he shouted; it is momentary anger reply. Nachiketa is following with authenticity, not with ethics.

Understand: what you do is also important and why you do is also important. If Nachiketa has gone to Kaala, Yama just because he has to obey his father’s words, he can only be considered as the best ethical man, a great person of morality. But the reason why he is going to death is not just because of his father said. He is going because of his authenticity and responsibility for the inauthenticity of his father.
  
Today I will expand on the main theme of Upanishads.

When Rama went to forest, He took the responsibility for the integrity of his father. Just before he was leaving to the forest, even Kaikeyi changed the mind. She begged, ‘Forgive me Rama, I did a mistake, no, no, no, don’t go because Kaikeyi is too strongly attached to Rama. It was actually Kaikeyi brought up Rama, not Kousala. Kaikeyi brought up Rama. So, when she asked Dasharatha, her only intellectual mind was convinced, her emotional being was not convinced. So when he saw the scene of Rama in ochre robe going to forest, the Seetha was very close to Kaikeyi. Both of them had a relationship of mother and daughter, not mother-in-law and daughter-in-law. Kaikeyi was more like a friend to Seetha.

There are many beautiful poetical remdering of Ramayana, records Kaikeyi coaching, educating Seetha for the life. She was a friend, mentor, mother. But the moment she saw, Kaikeyi saw the scene; Rama and Seetha and Lakshmana going,she couldn’t handle. She went and begged, ‘No, no, no, don’t go please’

He said, ‘No, I take the responsibility of the integrity of my father.
  
Please understand, listen, yesterday I was expanding on Jnana, Bhakthi, Vijnana.

Here, Nachiketa takes the responsibility even for the inauthenticity of the father. And the next line: ‘Yet he believed that greater harm might befall his father if his words, word was not kept.  Nachiketa takes the responsibility for the inauthenticity of the father. You see, he is inauthentic, that is where he is based at now. He need to be raised, raised to the level of authenticity. Now, if I don;t keep up his word, he will be out of integrity also. So atleast let me bring him to integrity by sacrificing my life, so that he moves to the next step of authenticity.

Therefore he sought to strengthen his father’s resolution, by reminding him of the transitory condition of life. Now, the father has fallen back to mamakaara. Only when he was burstng in anger, he was in ahankaara. Understand, whenever you deal with people, see whether he is standing on ahankaara, mamakaara or anyakaara. Because there are three personality in each one of you; handle him from based on that.
  
Having all the necessary intellectual understanding to live Advaitha is “Jnana”. Having all the intellectual understanding, listen, having all the necessary intellectual understanding is “Jnana”.

Gurukul kids, are you listening? When your mentor has a problem; sorry, when your student has a problem, see whether he is talking to you from mamakaara, ahankaara or anyakaara. When Vaajashravas said, ‘Let you die, I give you unto Yama’, he was operating from ahankaara. Unfortunately, ahankaara does not get continuously fuelled. When the emotions burst, person is naturally pushed back to mamakaara, sucked into mamakaara. Now, he is in mamakaara, the powerless state; he says: ‘Don’t go, don;t go’.

Same way with Kaikeyi, when she asked for the boon, she was working from ahankaara. Then suddenly she fell back on mamakaara and begging Rama, ‘don’t go’ And I know a personality like Rama;he would have been the life of the whole palace. Life comes from life, not from just buildings. Understand, life comes from life, not just from buildings. That is why in the forest, without any building, people from all over the world people come and stay. Most of the people who come and stay here, I can say, almost everyone who come and stay here have better accommodation outside in their house, but better space here.

Having all the necessary feeling-connection strength to live Advaitha is “Bhakthi”.

A personality like a Rama,if he leaves the palace, it means literally palace is moving out of palace. Leaving only palatial buildings. Palace is moving out of palace,just leaving palatial buildings. One ashramite, little loose wanted to leave the ashram.All I did is asked him one question: ‘Just remember, morning when you wake up, will you be able to be alive without seeing me?’ She said, ‘No,I am not going to go out of the ashram’ Then forget it, I dropped my decision. That’s all, only one question.

Because, life, life happens from life. Please understand, this is the mahavakya for today: ‘Life happens from life’. You can’t make meaning out of these words if you just put it in the Facebook, only if you listen to the satsang, you will understand. Mahavakyas are the words, only in the context will make meaning; otherwise nothing can be understood out of it. Thousands of people listen to the word, ‘Tattvamasi’, who can understand? No.
  
Having all the necessary cognitions to live Advaitha is “Vijnana”.

Only from the right person, in the right time, in the right muhurta,they make meaning. Life happens from life, not from buildings, not from bank balances, not from anything else. Life happens from life.

Nachiketa takes the responsibility for father’s inauthenticity and he does not want father to fall out of integrity also. So, he decides and he convinces

the father now who has fallen into the space of powerlessness. He has fallen into mamakaara, and he is feeling terrified, horrible, weak, powerless to let go Nachiketa. Nachiketa teaches him, reminding the father of the transitory condition of life I tell you, when you become authentic, the first thing you will have is ‘Fearlessness’. All fear will disappear. You will understand the transitory condition of life. The transitory condition of all the prefixes, suffixes you give it to life. Prefixes are preferences, suffixes are sufferings. All the prefixes you give for your life, and all the suffixes you give for life. Life itself is eternal, the prefixes and suffixes are transitory.
  
Listen!  Having all the intellectual understanding which is necessary to live Advaitha. “Living Advaitha” means, radiating all powerful, all knowledge, always blissful, Satchitanandamaya. Satchitananda is not a fantasy, please be very clear.  It is not a fantasy of the Hindu brain. No!  It is not a fairy tale from some old rishis of Taraka Vana or Naimisharanya. No!  Listen!  Listen!  Satchitananda is not fantasy.  It is reality!  Satchitananda is reality!  I am not interested in debating with the people who call this as fantasy.  I am only interested in giving this experience to people who want to receive it.  With more debates, more time will be wasted.  I am not interested in that.  I am not interested in leading to unnecessary debate; but I am always ready to clarify all the possible doubts.

Nachiketa reminds his dad about the transitory condition of prefixes and suffixes you give it to life. Rich life, prefix. Life of suffering, suffix. Life

is eternal, neither the prefix, nor the suffix is eternal. The transitory condition of life’s prefixes and suffixes. He said, ‘Look back to those who lived before and look to those who live now like the grain and mortal decay and the grain springs up. He talks to his dad, understand.

Upanishads, Upanishads, Upanishads are the most powerful expansion of Living Advaitha.  Listen!  I just feel in front of me each concept is sitting like a huge hill; I have to climb each hill, explain that, and come down; and climb the next hill, explain that, and come down. Because, the way the Jnana, whatever is required for you to live Advaitha is explained in the Upanishads, Oh god!  Such brilliant brains cannot have fantasies, please understand; cannot have delusions.  You can never think of the brains of the rishis having delusions or fantasies.  No!  Somebody who can grasp, understand and poetically present such high truths, in no way you can accuse them of having fantasies or delusions. That is why I am telling you, Satchitananda is not delusion.  It is as true as your breakfast and good night’s sleep. If you come and tell me you had your breakfast just now, I am not going to accuse you of delusion, illusion. I know it is a reality.  Because, breakfast is possible; you can eat it. It would have happened. It is that simple!  Please understand, it is that simple!  If you come and tell me, ‘I had a peaceful sleep, good night’s sleep.’, I am not going to accuse you, ‘Oh, you must have been deluded. May be you are in delusion, you are in fantasy. How can you have a good night’s sleep?’  No!  A good night’s sleep is simple possibility!  I am telling you, Satchitananda, the all-knowing, all-powerful, always blissful, is such a simply possibility.

Anyhow I will take responsibility even for your inauthenticities and I will demonstrate through my life the power of authenticity, integrity, enriching literally physically. When you see I have not slept for two days sorry two nights even in the daytime also few hours only I slept surely not more than 4 hours…3 hours only I slept 3 hours yesterday knowing two nights I have not slept only yesterday 3 hours only I slept and if you don’t see tiredness in my face that is authenticity shown physically…i am authentic that I love to come and be with you guys. I am authentic I love to be with you guys and enrich you guys. That is why my love to sit with you guys takes care I don’t get tired even if I missed sleep or anything. If i come and sit with you guys for some other reasons name and fame or money I may pull my body but my eyes and face will show the tiredness I will not be able to talk high intelligence subtle ideas and concepts. I will come and sit ok ok ok for few minutes and escape as early as possible. If i am sitting and talking with the deep mood of romance and flirtation understand all my successful satsangs are delivered in the mood of sweet romance and flirtation. Not as you understand. For you it is romance and flirtation leads to sex and ends there. For me it does not lead anywhere and stays forever. I am in the mood of sitting with you guys. I am in the mood of talking about extraordinary things subtle concepts. So i decided I will physically demonstrate my integrity and authenticity responsibility and enriching myself and others constantly so that I do the future mortem and take responsibility for your inauthenticity also and I ensure your inauthenticity disappears from you and restore authenticity and integrity. I wont give up on you. The threefold duties is listening responsibilty and enriching sacrifice is nothing but responsibility you crossover birth and death knowing this worship in the sacred fire born of Brahman realizing him he attains eternal peace. It is pathetic, really, really, really pathetic – that is the word I will use: “pathetic” – to deny the existence of your very higher possibility.  Arrey, denying the higher possibility, denying your higher possibility is denying your future!  Understand, if you deny that you can ever become rich, happy, comfortable, you are denying your whole future.  Same way, denying your possibility of Satchitananda is denying your spiritual future.  It is spiritual suicide!  Don’t allow people to force you to commit spiritual suicide.  And, I am telling you, there are tons and tons and tons of people who are forcing you to commit spiritual suicide through their direct, indirect teachings and preachings.  Through the TV serials, cinemas, books, entertainment shows, media, internet, what not, people are constantly forcing you to deny your future spiritual possibility.  Guru is the death bell for all those ignorance.  Listen!  Guru is the powerful wake-up call towards your spiritual possibility.  Waking you to your spiritual possibility, waking you to your spiritual future!  Waking you to your spiritual future, waking you to your spiritual possibility!  Waking you to your spiritual future, waking you to your spiritual possibility is the job of the Guru!

Understand, never a person has taken a decision, to live sannyas, intellectually, after intellectual conclusion, after intellectual analysis and conclusion.  No!  Anybody who has taken sannyas after intellectual analysis and conclusion was never successful; only a person who used his emotional passion and depth has been successful.  Your emotion is a pure power which can just transmit you from one space to another space.  Only the people who used that power, that strength, the pure emotion and power of devotion, and took the decision of sannyas were successful.  Only they were successful!  I am telling you, after seeing thousands and thousands of sannyasis of different religions, and after being respected, revered by so many sannyasis, and after respecting, revering so many sannyasis – understand, I have also revered, respected, bowed down to thousands of sannyasis, and thousands have bowed down to me – with all this experience I am telling you, only people who use the strength and power of emotion, devotion, are successful sannyasis, never the intellectual analysis.

See, if I am living in one corner of the Himalayas, on the banks of the Ganga, in a small hut, having a small garden just for food, and living in that Himalayan hut, and if you are given a chance, only one person is going to be there, and that is you, who will say ‘No’?  No one is going to say ‘No’!  That is intellectually analyzing and taking decision.  ‘Wow!  Only Swamiji!  Nobody else!  I can have Swamiji all for myself!’  That is intellectual decision.  You will never be successful in sannyas with intellectual decision.  If you understand this [[Sangha]] is a Ganga, and still I am sitting, not in some remote corner of Himalayas, I am sitting actually in a remote corner of Kailasa, still you are ready to live Advaitha with the Sangha, that, that really is the strength!  That can happen only if you use your emotional and devotional strength.  That is life.

I am telling you, I think many are still floating in visualization of them being alone with Swamiji in Himalayan hut!  Yet to come back (from the visualization)!  HAHAHA!  Settle down!  Settle down!  This Sangha is the Ganga, and the strength of your pure devotion.....  See, when you have that pure devotion, you are always alone with your Master.  No one else will be there.  Only when the devotion comes down, you will see others.  Just like only when flood comes down you will see the rocks on the banks.  If it is flooding, you won’t see any rock, tree, anything.  So, when that devotion strength is flooding you, you won’t see anybody around you.  You know it is only you and the Master; nothing else; nobody else exists.  Only when the devotion comes down, you will see, ‘Oh, why is she all the time shouting at me?  Why is he looking at me like that?  Why is he trying to snatch my pencil?  Why is he taking away my laptop?  He is not talking to me properly.  No, all that starts, when the devotion comes down.  All that starts when the devotion comes down!

Understand, the necessary sacred sentiments for you to experience Living Advaitha is “Bhakthi”.  And the necessary cognitions, that means, beyond doubt there are some basic understandings.

Y: Yes…hmm…one of the problem is ayurveda is not officially recognized here
  
When I started listening to some of these stories from my grandfather, Markandeya’s story, and Kannappa’s story, all these great saints’, saintly figures’ stories, Prahlada’s story, somehow it became part of my cognition that Mahadeva is available to you, Mahadeva is available to you. I used to go and sit with Annamalai Swamigal. In his presence they will read Ribhu Gita sometimes.  When I heard that Ribhu Gita, many of the verses automatically became part of my cognition. Same way when I read the Upanishads first, they just became part of my cognition.  Understand, reading spiritual books or listening to the satsanghs is allowing the possibility of having spiritual cognition.  Please understand, if you listen to ten ideas from the Master’s mouth, two ideas you may be debating, but suddenly four or five will just go inside and sit in your cognition and it will become unshakeable cognition!  Even you will forget to question them!  Whatever you forgot to doubt, hate, deny......  See, when your SDHD – Self-Doubt, Self-Hatred, Self-Denial – was busy in fighting with two-three ideas, other three-four ideas will just go and sit inside your being.  Satsangh is always for that purpose.  Satsangh is actually for that purpose.  I will be throwing some twenty ideas.  Your logic is not capable of fighting with all those twenty ideas.  Your SDHD, your Self-Doubt, Self-Hatred, Self-Denial, it will be fighting in two-three fronts with four-five ideas.  ‘Oh, what is there?  For Swamiji, enlightenment happened at the age of twelve.  He had great Masters like Annamalai Swamigal, Isakki Swamigal, Raghupathi Yogi.  They were all, all the time with him.  He was all the time with them.  He had it (enlightenment).  What can we do?’  Yes, your Self-Doubt, Self-Hatred, Self-Denial will be doing all this drama; I am not saying no.  But it can be doing this drama only with a few concepts and thoughts; not with all.  By the time it does this drama, the other two-thousand ideas, two-thousand truths which I am giving, will become part of your cognition.  That is the purpose of satsangh.  Raising your spiritual cognition higher and higher and higher every day, beyond your SDHD, is the purpose of satsangh.  Listen!  Raising your cognition, spiritual cognition every day, beyond your SDHD, is the purpose of satsangh.

Listen!  Truths, Sacred Sentiments, Sacred Cognitions.  Once, actually, I landed upon a very deep, strong, Sacred Cognition in my life, that, ‘I cannot be hurt. I cannot have any pain. I am the Atma. Atma cannot have any pain, suffering, nothing.  It is pure space.’  It was so powerful and so strong, I went and took a knife and cut my thigh to check!  A child will not have the guts to take a knife and cut himself to check.  Understand, I tell you, the power of the cognition was so much, I could not control myself from testing it on me, because I was too excited.  Of course, I needed a few more understandings. See, when I am the Atma, Soul, I am not the body, and I cannot be destroyed, I don’t have pain, I am beyond suffering, then I should have tested that ON MY ATMA, not on my body.  But I have tested it on my body, on something which I am not.  See, the experience is sitting on the Atma, the cognition is sitting on the consciousness, but the experiment I am doing it on my body!  That understanding I gathered a little later.  But, that cognition was so powerful, even when there was pain in the body, I did not feel bad about what I did, I did not feel bad about testing it.  It was such an ecstasy!  ‘Wow!  Aaaah!  Like a long journey is over!  Now I don’t need to run around here and there!  I am That!’  That rest, that restful awareness, that cognition was such an ecstasy!  Gathering these cognitions into your being is what I call “Living Advaitha”.  Living Advaitha!

In today’s morning satsang, Paramahamsa Nithyananda (Swamiji) cautions his sangha to stand fast in their commitments. Many people feel they can take one holiday from practice: “just for today” they can miss the class, break the fast, relax the vow, whatever commitment they have made can be dropped for just one day. Nithyananda warns his devotees that this one moment of laziness, of falling out of integrity, destroys all dedication and all achievements of penance. That small moment can shake mountains. When devotees make a sacrifice, they are taking responsibility for their circumstances. Standing fast in the fire of sacrifice gives the understanding of eternal life. The guru has ultimate expectations for his followers: it is their responsibility to stretch themselves to meet his vision of their potential. That is the true meaning of “surrendering to the guru”.

Today Makara Sankranthi, Pongal festival. I Bless you all on this auspicious Makara Sankranthi and Pongal festival. Let everything be auspicious. Today the sun take Uttarayana. From today it is very auspicious 6 months. Actually yesterday morning itself the Uttarayana started. Just after Kalabhairava said, I went and verified the calendar. Yesterday morning Uttarayana started, that is why the Makara Jyothi festival was held yesterday itself in Sabari Mala. And if you observed today, for the first time the sun rays came inside the garba mandir on the face. And today in Arunachala temple, sun rays enters the garba mandir and worships Arunachaleshwara every year. Every year on this day, only on this day sun rays enter garba mandir of Arunachaleshwara and worships Mahadeva directly. So let the grace f Surya/Sun be on all of us.

Now I can see Bengaluru north and San Diego, Blessings.

I have never seen sun rays entering garba mandir and directly falling in the face. Great! And I also wanted to offer my condolences to Sri Sri Sri Balaganagadharanatha Swamiji the pontiff of Adi chunchanagiri samsthana mutt. He passed away yesterday night..evening. Yesterday evening He left the body in his own hospital – BGS hospital and his age is 68. All of you should know, He was like our elder brother, father, guide and amazing supporter from day one I came to Bangalore. It is He who insisted that I should stay in Bangalore and He inaugurated our Dhyanapeetam understand the Day 1 2003 January 1st when we had nothing. nothing more than half an acre of the Bidadi banyan tree. Please understand Jan 5th to 2003 only we go this land. January 1st of 2003, we had only that half an acre bit of the banyan tree. Only that was our possession and nothing else, He came and inaugurated the ashram, Blessed, stood by us, supported us, He was a great support from the day 1 till his last days. I offer my condolences on behalf of me and Dhyanapeetam and I also offer my prayers to Kalabhairava who is He kshetra devata of the chunchanagiri kshetra. Let Swamiji’s soul rest in peace.

I can remember 1000 sweet memories of Him. Fortunately this village, where we are our ashram this village is called Banadur which is his birth place. And in initial level, when we had some oppositions or problems, He stood by us so strongly, of course He stood by us till the end in all best possible way in every small event eve if there are only 100, 200 people are going to gather, He will come attend the event and He will tell me ‘I am always standing by you Swamiji’. Once He came to our event even without even me inviting. He said ‘ I heard you were doing this program and I was driving by this side and I wanted to come and attend’. He came and attended and went. I said, “Swamiji it is disrespect to you. Why did you come even without me even inviting or organizing? At least if you had informed me, I would have organized”. He told me, “I heard there are few local people trying to oppose you and if I come and stand by you, they will not oppose you. That’s why I came”. I still remember not local villages, local villages from the beginning they gave instructions, all the local villages are his family relatives. He gave them instruction to support and stand by us. They always stood by us. There were some miscreants anti-social elements, they came and tried to create problem. He came voluntarily and stood by us protecting, defending us in so many ways. And I still remember, once there was a function in Bidadi. They were giving Tula bhara, giving his equal weight silver for him. So there was a huge flower palki, palanquin decorated for him. He was supposed to go in the procession. Everything was ready, He came and before He sat on the procession, He called the organizers and asked them, ‘Did you invite Nithyananda Swami?’. They said No. He said what do you mean? He is the local head. Call Him. Organizers came running to Bidadi to the ashram, saying Swamiji has come, He is not getting into the Palki, He is waiting for you in the car. So I was taking the class and I had to drop everything and run because Swamiji called. When I went there He said, sit with me in the Palki. I said, Swamiji, “How can I sit equal to you? Please I will come by walk behind you”. He said ‘No, sit with Me’. Still we have photos and videos where He made me sit next to him. Actually I sat opposite to him even after getting into the palki. He said No, come sit here. He made me sit next to him, made me sit and then He told me “only if I tell the people, local people will respect you. So, I want you to sit next to me. Through this I want to make a statement to people, that they should respect you. And always from the beginning He showered so much of love on us, support. He had a pet dog in his school. The dog was named as Kalabhairava. The dog was trained to bite strangers. But the dog was so connected with me because I go so many times there, it started feeling that I am an insider. I stay there. So, when I go, they don’t tie the dog. See they have a rule, any stranger,, guest comes they will tie the dog, because it is trained to bite strangers. It was trained to bite strangers. A German dog, but when I go there they don’t tie the dog because it comes and touches my feet and never feels that I am a stranger. And never ever left me and ate. Whenever I go, if we call the ashram and tell I am coming, He will not eat, He will wait for me. He is a diabetic patient at least I can count 10 times, I delayed his meal. Being a diabetic patient, I tell him, Swamiji no, please you eat, you don’t wait, you eat. He will say No. and He will wait. The amazing personal love is his contribution to Hinduism and Vedic tradition and unimaginable personal love. I literally enjoyed the feeling of father and elder brother with him. And really I miss him. He was such a big support not only in personal level but in social level also. Today He is no more but you should know Bheeshma waited for Uttarayana and left the body. He also waited and yesterday morning Uttarayana happened. Actually yesterday night when I heard the news, He left the body, I was telling all the ashramites, Oh God, He could have waited for one more day, today was Uttarayana. I was thinking He could have left the body in Uttarayana. That morning Kalabhairava Darshan, Kalabhairava said, ‘No Uttarayana was pulled yesterday itself’. Then when I went and referred, I saw yes, yesterday itself, Sabari mala Makara Sankranthi festival is over. Means yesterday morning itself Uttarayana has started. So He waited exactly on Uttarayana, exactly at the time of Makara Jyothi Makara sankranthi left the body like Bheeshma . It is called the sun taking the north turn, sun starts moving to towards the north and his guru Balagangadhar swami’s guru Tiruchy Swamigal, He also left the body exactly on Uttaryana day, Pongal Today. So both of them will have guru puja on the same day.

So He waited exactly on Uttarayana exactly on the time of Magara Jothi Makara Sankranti left the body like Bhishma. It is called the sun taking the north turn, sun starts moving towards north. And his guru Balagangadhar Swamiji’s guru Trichy swamigal he also left the body exactly on Uttarayana day pongal today, so both of them will be having guru pooja on the same day every year. And still I remember thousands of sweet moments with him I offer condolences in behalf of me and Dhyanapeetam once again to him and all the people who are missing he is the father of a great sampradaya so I offer my condolences for all of them I offer my prayers to Kalabhairava may swami’s soul rest in peace. May his soul rest in peace. So my blessings for all of you on makara sankranti “Iniya Thai pongal Nalvazthukal” you guys can see the photograph of suryapooja sun entering the garbhamandir directly on the space. Only on the face you see uhh?? Woww great. All right today nirhara samyama second level 7th day. Today i am filled with my memory really to tell you honestly I have to share so many things because when I had the fracture we rushed to his hospital only in 10 minutes in 10 minutes he called me personally. Even I will be not able to reach somebody in 10 minutes in any emergency his sangha his organization is 100 times bigger than ours. In 10 minutes he came online personally saying swamiji how are you how is your body, I said swamiji there is no pain. He laughed and said who asked you I know you will not have pain i am only asking you are you conscious or are you in some other state. Haha…that’s all he asked me even before I reached the hospital actually we informed his PRO that we are reaching his hospital even before we reached he called me and he called and told the PRO the hospital people to take care and when I was very adamant that doctors should do surgery on your hand without anesthesia he called me and said don’t behave like a child allow them to give anesthesia. No he had that much influence over me command over me. He said if you want to see the surgery I will tell them to make a video and record you see later on have anesthesia because doctors are afraid because of his advice only finally I accepted to have that partial anesthesia local anesthesia and nobody knows this information now I should reveal it now, he even offered huge money when we started the ashram for me to build the sangha and whatever I required I did not accept but he offered huge money first he gave as donation when I said no swamiji when I politely denied whatever people giving donations to me having benefits from me I will build the sangha with that money I refused politely then he said if you are having self confidence and self respect take it as a interest free loan give me when you can. Even that very politely I refused he said hurray I know your potentiality don’t waste your time in intial seed money for initial seed money you are wasting time all that 2 -3 years wasted. I know what I give you will make people will make 1000 times more I will accept at that time when you have give me back without interest take it as a interest free loan first he gave me as a donation only when I said I don’t want I know you are a guy with self respect then at least take it as an interest free loan I refused even that with all my politeness and respect then he said whatever buildings you want I will send my disciples and make them construct I said swamiji I only want to receive moral support and blessings from you nothing else he had so much of respect so much of respect for me and supporting till the end he always stood by us always stood by us i am just filled with his memories from he stood by us a pillar and the love he showed he is a great visionary and come to conclusion about the people potentiality. Start the satsang now today's subject again i am continuing on Authenticity based on Kathopanishad lets enter in to authenticity so yesterday I was expanding on the 15th verse of katopanishad where Upanishad says great souled Yama Mahatma being well pleased said to Nachiketha I give you now another boon this fire sacrifice shall be name after you take also this garland of many colours means Navaratna mala he gives Navaratna mala. The verse means he who performs this Nachiketha fire sacrifice three times being united with the three mother father and teacher and who fulfils the threefold duty study of the Vedas, sacrifice and arms giving cross over the birth and death knowing this worshipfull shining fire born of Brahman realising he attains eternal peace.

So Mahadeva please understand Iam addressing Yama as Mahadeva because he does the job of guru shiva till now I addressed him as aacharya iam now addressing him as Mahadeva because Kaala is doing the job of Kaala kaala. Kaala is doing the job of Kaala kaala means he who performsthis Nachiketha fire sacrifice three times being united with the three mother father and teacher and who fulfils the threefold duty study of the Vedas sacrifice and arms giving cross over the birth and death knowing this worshipfull shining fire born of Brahman realising this he attains eternal peace.

What a verse. I need to expand on this verse because this verse has the secret of the whole process He who performs the nachiketha fire sacrifice three times why three times? The sacrifice is powerful enough once is enough why 3 times even there is some mistakes once some mistakes twice third time all 3 times there will not be mistakes. Its like a factor of safety having insurance and insurance for the insurance company. You insure in one company you insure in another company if the insurance of this company goes bankrupt this is like a three layer insurances. That is why three times see it is an very important thing its like a you should make sure the visa is proper this Yagnaa even if there is no proper visa and reach the country they will send you back the homeland. But this Yaagna you think you performed and go there and they say no no your account is its not recorded in your account what will you do? You cannot comeback also so just to avoid these kind of difficulties you have to perform three times. Make sure it is recorded. Being united with the three mother, father and teacher why? Being united with the three means you have completed with all the three I will tell you if you have completed with all the three you have restored integrity you just restore your integrity. Understand: what you do is also important and why you do is also important. If Nachiketa has gone to Kaala, Yama just because he has to obey his father’s words, he can only be considered as the best ethical man, a great person of morality. But the reason why he is going to death is not just because of his father said. He is going because of his authenticity and responsibility for the inauthenticity of his father.

When Rama went to forest, He took the responsibility for the integrity of his father. Just before he was leaving to the forest, even Kaikeyi changed the mind. She begged, ‘Forgive me Rama, I did a mistake, no, no, no, don’t go because Kaikeyi is too strongly attached to Rama. It was actually Kaikeyi brought up Rama, not Kousala. Kaikeyi brought up Rama. So, when she asked Dasharatha, her only intellectual mind was convinced, her emotional being was not convinced. So when he saw the scene of Rama in ochre robe going to forest, the Seetha was very close to Kaikeyi. Both of them had a relationship of mother and daughter, not mother-in-law and daughter-in-law. Kaikeyi was more like a friend to Seetha.

There are many beautiful poetical remdering of Ramayana, records Kaikeyi coaching, educating Seetha for the life. She was a friend, mentor, mother. But the moment she saw, Kaikeyi saw the scene; Rama and Seetha and Lakshmana going,she couldn’t handle. She went and begged, ‘No, no, no, don’t go please’ He said, ‘No, I take the responsibility of the integrity of my father.

Here, Nachiketa takes the responsibility even for the inauthenticity of the father. And the next line: ‘Yet he believed that greater harm might befall his father if his words, word was not kept. Nachiketa takes the responsibility for the inauthenticity of the father. You see, he is inauthentic, that is where he is based at now. He need to be raised, raised to the level of authenticity. Now, if I don;t keep up his word, he will be out of integrity also. So atleast let me bring him to integrity by sacrificing my life, so that he moves to the next step of authenticity.

Therefore he sought to strengthen his father’s resolution, by reminding him of the transitory condition of life. Now, the father has fallen back to mamakaara. Only when he was burstng in anger, he was in ahankaara. Understand, whenever you deal with people, see whether he is standing on ahankaara, mamakaara or anyakaara. Because there are three personality in each one of you; handle him from based on that.

Gurukul kids, are you listening? When your mentor has a problem; sorry, when your student has a problem, see whether he is talking to you from mamakaara, ahankaara or anyakaara. When Vaajashravas said, ‘Let you die, I give you unto Yama’, he was operating from ahankaara. Unfortunately, ahankaara does not get continuously fuelled. When the emotions burst, person is naturally pushed back to mamakaara, sucked into mamakaara. Now, he is in mamakaara, the powerless state; he says: ‘Don’t go, don;t go’.

Same way with Kaikeyi, when she asked for the boon, she was working from ahankaara. Then suddenly she fell back on mamakaara and begging Rama, ‘don’t go’ And I know a personality like Rama;he would have been the life of the whole palace. Life comes from life, not from just buildings. Understand, life comes from life, not just from buildings. That is why in the forest, without any building, people from all over the world people come and stay. Most of the people who come and stay here, I can say, almost everyone who come and stay here have better accommodation outside in their house, but better space here. Better place there, better space here.

A personality like a Rama,if he leaves the palace, it means literally palace is moving out of palace. Leaving only palatial buildings. Palace is moving out of palace,just leaving palatial buildings. Mahavakyas are the words, only in the context will make meaning; otherwise nothing can be understood out of it. Thousands of people listen to the word, ‘Tattvamasi’, who can understand? No.

Only from the right person, in the right time, in the right muhurta,they make meaning. Life happens from life, not from buildings, not from bank balances, not from anything else. Life happens from life.

Nachiketa takes the responsibility for father’s inauthenticity and he does not want father to fall out of integrity also. So, he decides and he convinces the father now who has fallen into the space of powerlessness. He has fallen into mamakaara, and he is feeling terrified, horrible, weak, powerless to let go Nachiketa. Nachiketa teaches him, reminding the father of the transitory condition of life I tell you, when you become authentic, the first thing you will have is ‘Fearlessness’. All fear will disappear. You will understand the transitory condition of life. The transitory condition of all the prefixes, suffixes you give it to life. Prefixes are preferences, suffixes are sufferings. All the prefixes you give for your life, and all the suffixes you give for life. Life itself is eternal, the prefixes and suffixes are transitory.

Nachiketa reminds his dad about the transitory condition of prefixes and suffixes you give it to life. Rich life, prefix. Life of suffering, suffix. Life is eternal, neither the prefix, nor the suffix is eternal. The transitory condition of life’s prefixes and suffixes. He said, ‘Look back to those who lived before and look to those who live now like the grain and mortal decay and the grain springs up. He talks to his dad, understand.
