ATMA SHANTI OF THE REVERED SRI PALA SESHADRI, SENIOR PUJĀRI AT TIRUMALA TIRUPATI DEVASTHANAM (TTD)

ATMA SHANTI OF THE REVERED SRI PALA SESHADRI, SENIOR PUJĀRI AT TIRUMALA TIRUPATI DEVASTHANAM (TTD) || 29 NOVEMBER 2021||

On November 29, 2021, the Sovereign State of SHRIKAILASA mourns the loss of the esteemed senior priest of Bhagavan Venkateshwara of the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanam (TTD), Sri Pala Seshadri, who passed away in Visakhapatnam in the early hours of Monday.

Sri Pala Seshadri had spent the preceding 50 years in the service of Bhagavan Venkateswara in the eminent temple of Tirumala till the last moment. He is known for his outstanding understanding of Āgama Ṣastra, which dealt with temple rituals and operations, that led to his continuing to serve at the temple after his retirement in 2006. He was the only individual to be sanctioned repeated post-retirement extensions in honor of his loyal and dutiful contributions.

The SPH Nithyananda Paramashivam offers humble respects and praṇāms and expresses grief over the sudden demise of Sri Pala Seshadri in honor and respect of the long-standing relationship they have shared since 2008. The long years of servitude to Bhagavan Venkateshwara will be recorded and revered in the history of the grand Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanam (TTD) as well as in Sanatana Hindu Dharma.

Having taken the spiritual responsibility of bringing religious harmony and peace to the world, Kailasa’s Department of Religion and worship will be offering Maheshwara Puja at the feet of The SPH Nithyananda Paramashivam for the same on 4th December 2021 (Amavasya)

About Maheshwara Puja:
Maheshwara Puja is Hinduism's oldest recorded ritual prevalent even today in the Vedic tradition. In the Maheshwara Puja, The SPH Nithyananda Paramashivam, the 1008th living incarnation of Paramashiva Himself receives Puja and the naivedyam bhiksha – the food offering.

Maheshwara Puja is performed for intense completion with anyone who has left their body and passed into their new life in a new body, new ambiance but with the same incompletions from a karmic level. The SPH blesses the ancestors to attain liberation and offers them “pinda” or food for the journey to their liberation.

The Somasambhu Patati says, it is a thousand times greater than offering any “shrāddha”, any “pinda”, in any river, any water-body, any lake, any holy land, any holy place. Offering it in the stomach of the living incarnation of Paramashiva is the best form of “pinda tharpana” and shrāddha. In Hinduism, Shraadhha wherein food is offered to sanyasis for the completion with the departed souls, is called Maheshwara puja.

In the Somashambhu Paddhati, Shraadhha vidhi,Sloka 3,

लिङ्गिनो ब्राह्मणाद्याश्च श्राद्धीयाः शिवदीक्षिताः ।
liṅgino brāhmaṇādyāśca śrāddhīyāḥ śivadīkṣitāḥ ।
“The Sannyasis and Brahmanas who have been initiated into the Shiva Deeksha are eligible to be appointed as the representatives of Pitrus in the Shraadhha.”

(The sacred Maheshwara Puja is happening twice a month, each Amavasya and Purnima)
