WHy do we need Kailasa?

Reviving Gurukul: Empowering Minds, Preserving Heritage

The historical legacy of Gurukuls, Hindu's ancient educational institution, faced systematic destruction during colonial rule. To invalidate indigenous education, the Colonizers propagated the false narrative of widespread illiteracy and education restricted only to high-class Hindus, while, ironically, their own surveys revealed that every village hosted schools with a diverse student body.

In the span of a mere century (1800-1900), the Colonizers systematically eradicated one million Gurukuls, replacing them with a colonial education system that prioritized rote learning, suppressing individual intellect. This detrimental impact is still felt today.

In response, The Supreme Pontiff of Hinduism (SPH) initiated the revival of KAILASA, with a vision to resurrect the Gurukul system and restore the ancient wisdom of Hindu education. This revival isn't just about reclaiming heritage but also empowering minds, fostering independent thinking, and nurturing a holistic approach to learning. Today, Sri Valli Devasena Sametha Sri Subrahmanya Swami is going to grace us at the Teppal festival - Teppotsavam. Teppal is a grandly decorated water float, which is set afloat in the waters of the temple tank. The grandly decorated deity of Sri Valli Devasena Sametha Sri Subrahmanya Swami will be offered puja and Aradhana, and they will be gracefully taken around in a procession on the water float. The Teppotsavam is a beautiful ritual that gently brings the intense energy of the 10-day Nithyanandeshwara Paramashiva Brahmotsavam to a blissful peace
