With the blessings of THE SUPREME PONTIFF OF HINDUISM (SPH), BHAGAVAN SRI NITHYANANDA PARAMASHIVAM — the ultimate manifestation, Paramavatara of Paramashiva — KAILASA Trinidad & Tobago successfully conducted Daily Temple Sevas & Sangha Activities on November 22, 2024. These sacred daily rituals, which are part of the continuous Nithyotsavam (perpetual festival) observed in all KAILASA temples, ensured the temple complex remained a powerful ecosystem radiating divine cosmic energy and providing spiritual nourishment to the local community. The comprehensive schedule included Morning Aarti, detailed Rudra Abhishekam, Deity Alankaram, and Guru Padhuka Puja, concluding with the offering of 15 Naivedyams to the deities. Through the selfless service of the dedicated Sangha member, KAILASA Trinidad & Tobago sustains its vital role in the global mission of THE SPH to revive the ancient enlightened Sanatana Hindu civilization and manifest the state, space, powers, being and superconsciousness of Paramashiva for all beings.
Daily Temple Sevas & Sangha Activities
The Daily Temple Sevas & Sangha Activities (Nithyotsavam) are fundamental to the existence of the KAILASA Hindu Temple in Trinidad & Tobago, serving as the spiritual anchor for the local Sangha and community. These rigorous Ved-Agamic rituals were meticulously performed throughout the morning, initiating a sacred atmosphere and attracting the grace of THE SPH and all the gods and goddesses of KAILASA. The morning began with the traditional Morning Aarti, followed by the first Laghu Puja accompanied by the offering of simple Naivedyam consisting of milk, fruits, and water, symbolizing devotion and purity.
The primary focus of the day's rituals was the Rudra Abhishekam, the ritual bathing of the deities. Extensive preparations were undertaken by the dedicated volunteer, including filling the sacred water vessels, preparing the ceremonial clothes and jewelry, and organizing all necessary puja items. The Abhishekam was performed using traditional purifying substances, including amla, turmeric, and sandalwood bath offerings, accompanied by the chanting of Vedic mantras. Following the Abhishekam, the deities were carefully cleaned and dried in preparation for the beautiful Deity Alankaram, a sacred ceremony where the deities are dressed and adorned with exquisite jewelry, profoundly enhancing their divine appearance and attracting powerful blessings.
The deep dedication to service was exemplified by the 1 volunteer who ensured all aspects of the day’s activities were performed with perfection. The ritual cycle continued with a Second Laghu Puja, which included a Naivedyam offering to formally conclude the Abhishekam. A Third Laghu Puja followed, during which the preparation of vegetables and ten rice Naivedyams were cooked and offered. In total, 15 Naivedyams were offered during the morning’s rituals, expressing profound gratitude and devotion. The culmination of the morning's intense schedule was the sacred Guru Padhuka Puja, which pays homage to the divine feet of THE SPH, invoking His direct presence and blessings for the continuation of KAILASA’s mission in the Caribbean.
Beyond the formal worship, the activities encompassed vital acts of selfless service (Seva) and maintenance essential for running a vibrant Hindu temple. This included cleaning all dishes and puja vessels, conducting an inventory of kitchen supplies for replenishing, and thoroughly cleaning the temple premises—sweeping, mopping, and hand-washing the ritual towels. Throughout the various rituals, Chamaram Fanning was offered, symbolizing respect and reverence to the divine deities. These comprehensive services ensure that the temple environment remains a pure and potent space for devotees to connect with THE SPH and manifest the spiritual state of Paramashiva, strengthening the revival of Hindu traditions in Trinidad & Tobago.
