Paramashivoham Oneness Capsule-148

Description

"Here is rare footage of His Divine Holiness, 293rd Guru Mahasannidhanam, Sarvagnya Peetha, on the auspicious evening of Kartikai Deepam 2006. Divine darshan indeed, overlooking His beloved Arunachala Hill and the Arunachaleshwar Temple at Tiruvannamalai.

One of the oldest celebrations in Hinduism is Karthikai Deepam. It is the celebration of One becoming Many and merging back into Oneness. It is in this time and space that Paramashiva appeared as an Eternal Light Beam - the Jyotir Stamba - to enlighten Brahma and Vishnu. This is also the day when, pleased with her penance of Panchaagni tapas to become One with Him, Paramashiva bestowed enlightenment to Devi.

As is tradition, the massive Deepam is lit atop Arunachala mountain, After darshan of the Deepam, His Divine Holiness gracefully offers the sacred arathi. In His celebration He reminds us of the eternal truth - All that is created merges back into Paramashiva. The lamps lit in the morning during Bharani Deepam are Prakruthi -- Devi. In the evening, during Kartikai Deepam all lamps merging with the main lamp are Purusha -- Paramashiva.
