Title

Wax models of deities || Tiruvalanchuzhi, Kumbakonam, Tamilnadu, India || 2007

Narration

Under the direct supervision of The Supreme Pontiff of Hinduism (SPH), 3 feet metal deities (panchaloha) of Nithyanandeshwara Paramashiva and Nithyanandeshwari Parashakti were cast-moulded near Kumbakonam in a place called Tiruvalanchuzhi in 2007. Below are photographs of the wax models that were made as the first step in this traditional art of moulding deities. The veteran sthapati (artisan) who moulded them are seen in the photographs.
