After a long history of colonization and invasions, thousands of Hindu temples have been destroyed, replaced by other buildings, or transformed into other buildings. Gyanvapi is such an example. More than 350 years ago, the temple premises were overtaken, and the fight still continues for the temple to be reopened. Recently, after more than 31 years, the first Pujas were conducted at this sacred site, which is mentioned in the age-old Skanda Purana.

As part of KAILASA’s commitment to global harmony, KAILASA's Department of Religion and Worship will conduct a special Maheshwara Puja at the feet of THE SPH on February 09, 2024 (Amavasya). The prayers and rituals aim to bring peace to the departed souls and provide support to the affected community during this challenging time.
