-WHEREAS: HINDUISM is the third-largest religion in the world, dating back for thousands of years. More than 2 billion people in more than 100 nations across the world, including the United States, are HINDUS. They have maintained their faith in the face of much persecution; and
-WHEREAS: HINDUISM has at its core the cultural values of Advaita (Oneness) and Ahimsa (Non-violence). With its emphasis on education, Hinduism has made advances in health, law, banking, accounting, architecture, civil engineering, performing arts, medicine, and many other fields; and
-WHEREAS: On January 3, 1978, Jagatguru Mahasannidhanam (JGM), His Divine Holiness (HDH) Nithyananda Paramashivam, Sovereign of the United States of Kailasa, was incarnated as Supreme Pontiff of HINDUISM (SPH). The SPH revived the matrilineal society of the HINDU civilization to empower women and youth globally, and continues to do so; and
-WHEREAS: HINDUISM is one of humanity's great spiritual forces, uniting billions of people across the planet in the pursuit of education, oneness, and non-violence. Its message of peaceful co-existence transcends all walks of life. Kailasa USA operates in all 50 states, operating food pantries; and
-WHEREAS: As Mayor of Newark, I salute HINDUISM, as the City signs a Sister-City Agreement with the United States of KAILASA today, recognizing it and KAILASA’s role in supporting the faith and in fighting hunger.
