The United States of KAILASA signs a Bilateral Partnership Agreement with the Upper Takutu-Upper Essequibo Region of the Co-operative Republic of Guyana (Guyana).

Upper Takutu-Upper Essequibo also known as Region 9, is one of Guyanaโ€™s ten Administrative Regions. It is located in the south of Guyana. Region 9 borders Region 8 (Potaro-Siparuni) to the north, Region 6 (East Berbice-Corentyne) to the east, and Brazil to the south and west. The administrative center of Region 9 is the town of Lethem.

Region 9 is the largest region of Guyana and is also reputed to be the most scenic region with the greatest biodiversity. The Kanuku and Kamoa highlands and the vast Rupununi savannahs make up the Upper Takutu-Upper Essequibo region. The forested Kanuku Mountains divide this Region in two. The Rupununi savannah is located between the Rupununi River and the Brazilian border. The savannah is teeming with wildlife, including a large variety of bird species.
