In this clip taken from discourse titled, "Accept and Transcend the Oneness", Swamiji answers a question about developing devotion to the divine. He says that changes in the depth of devotion are purely swings in our mind. He tells us to use the technique given by Ramakrishna to surrender both the depth and shallowness of the devotion at the feet of the divine. When doubt and trust are surrendered at the feet of the divine, trust happens and it is only through trust that spiritual growth happens.
