Description

In this video Supreme Pontiff of Hinduism Jagatguru Mahasannidhanam His Divine Holiness Bhagavan Sri Nithyananda Paramashivam Starts with the story of a farmer who did not have his own land. When his #prayer for land of his own got fulfilled the farmer fell down dead due to his greed and fear. Everybody has greed and a fearful mind. Food for the mind is tension and postponing We are always in a restless state of mind and running the rat race. Mind never lets us relax, enjoy and be blissful because the mind will die if we enjoy and relax.

Creating and Planning chronologically are a good use of the mind . Continually worrying about what will happen tomorrow is not, in fact it will harm us physically.

I welcome you all with My love and respects. We will start with a small story. Once a man, poor farmer, he is so poor, he don’t have even half an acre his own land. He used to work for somebody else. Whatever wages he is getting he used to eat. One day he thought, when he was resting, “If God gives me my own land, at least half an acre, I will be able to work on my own and whatever comes out of that land, I will eat. I will have it for my life. It will be a great help, if God gives me half an acre of land”. So he started praying intensely.

(01:54)

As you know, God is so gracious. Immediately Vishnu appeared. “Oh! My son what do you want, you ask.” The man asked, “Yes, Oh God, give me at least little bit of land so that I can work for myself and earn my food. I don’t have to depend on somebody”. God said. “Alright. Tomorrow morning when the sun rises, you come to this place. Tomorrow morning from sunrise to sunset whatever area you walk and cross, all those area will be yours. Don’t worry. Why half an acre or little bit? Whatever you want, how much you walk, how much you cross, everything belongs to you.

If God would have given immediately half an acre, there would have been no problem. He gave little time for him to think. He said, “Tomorrow morning you come at the time of sunrise and till tomorrow evening sunset, how much land you walk and cross, it belongs to you”. Then Vishnu disappeared. Imagine, he would have slept that night? No. First, he thought, at least 10 acre land I should walk and cover it. Then he thought, why 10 acre, if I can have little more, after all how much I walk that much is going to be my land. If I cover little more, even my sons can have. If I cover little more, I can have a small farm-house.

(03:54)

By the time next day morning, he is filled with greed. He has decided he will try his best to walk or run and cover as much as possible. He started; he brought his food so that he will not be, he doesn’t have to go for food. So he has packed his food and brought. As soon as the Sun raised, God appeared and told “Alright, now you can start walking”. He started walking, walking. After half an hour, speed picked up, went on, went on, went on. Around noon 12 o’clock, he felt totally tired and exhausted. Food is there. But his mind says no, no, no, no. If you walk little more, you can have food afterwards. Anyhow, tomorrow onwards you are going to have food every day. Why to have food today and disturb the… waste the time. So he is not ready to eat. He started walking continuously.

(05:12)

Around 3 o’clock body started begging, ‘at least have a glass of water’. He is not ready to stop even for a glass of water. ‘No, I should run. I should run. Even if I stop for a glass of water, I will miss ten acres of land.’ Because that five minutes, he will not be able to cover for 10 acres. Anyhow he started running, running, running. Around 5 o’clock in the evening, almost he is exhausted and his mind says, ‘I may fall, I may faint. Please have little water or little food.’ But the greed says, ‘no, no, no. Let me put all my effort and get as much as possible.’ Running, again he continued running, running, running, running running.

Around 6 o’clock, just 10 minutes before the sunset totally exhausted, he has fallen. But even then he is not ready to take the water or the food. He started crawling. Then finally he forced himself, collected all the energy, got up, started running, running, running. With his last breath, with full effort running, running, running, running, running. The Sun was about to set. Even then he is not ready to stop for a sip of water or for little bit of food. He has already saw, he has ran more than 10 villages. Now 10 villages belongs to him. But he doesn’t want to stop. The mind is not ready to stop. It said, ‘No no, one more village. We will have a kingdom of our own.’ He, he started running. At the end, he saw a river. ‘Now this side of the river belongs to me. If I somehow cross the river that side, that side also will become mine. Let me run.’

He ran, ran, ran. By the time he reached the… that side of the river, the Sun is set, sunset has happened. When the sun set, the time by the time he has reached that side of the river, he just fell totally exhausted, totally tired, totally energy less. He decided, ‘Yes, now the sun has set, let me rest.’ He just fell. But he fell and died. He just fell and died.

(08:10)

It’s a small story from a teachings of a mystic, a great mystic who lived in Maharastra called Gnaneshwar. He has written a great work, great commentary on Gita called Gnaneshwari. He lived only 16 years. This story has got a significance. It has got a meaning. If you see superficially, you may find the man is a fool. That man wanted only half an acre. Finally his greed has led him… not only the greed has made him to run, run run, finally the greed has eaten him. He has died. If you see superficially, you think he is fool. If you look little deep, then you will understand, in each one of you the man is existing. The same man who has been eaten by the greed, who has died by running is existing in every one of us. If you turn little bit in, then you will be able to understand, in every one of us, in the starting when you started your life, what was your ideal, what was your goal? Look.

If we fix up a goal of one million dollar, by the time we reach half a million dollar, the goal has become ten million dollar. By the time you reach 5 million dollar, the goal has already become, one crore or something more than that. So the mind just continuously keeps on postponing; continuously makes you run, makes you constantly run, run, run, run, run, never lets you relax, never lets you enjoy, never lets you have the bliss of what you have got. It just makes you as much as possible only to run.

(10:44)

Why, why mind never lets you rest? Why mind never lets you relax? Because whenever you relax, whenever you enjoy, whenever you start living the life, mind has to die. Mind cannot be alive without the tension. The very food for the mind, very root of the mind is the tension and postponing. Tension and the postponing is the very root or very food for the mind. Mind can be alive, your thoughts can be alive, only when you postpone your goals.

There are two words, you need to understand. Doing and being. Your being cannot exist if you stop doing. Your being can exist as a mind, your mind can exist only by doing, only by postponing. From the young age, you can see your life... When you are in a college, you think, ‘If I get a good job, my life will be settled. I will be happy. Then I will start enjoying my life. In… after when you get a job, you think, ‘If I get visa to America, then life will be settled. Then I will have joy.’ Once you get the visa, ‘If I get a green card that will be grand. Then I can enjoy.’ You run, run, run. When you get a green card, ‘Somehow citizenship, if it comes till that time I have to be careful.’ So once the citizenship comes, then you think, ‘If I am married, if I get married, that will be nice.’ So you start running.

(12:47)

Once you are married, you think, ‘I should have issues, kids. Then life will be great.’ Once you get the issues, you think, ‘Once they start, once they are settled, then life will be really grand. Once they are settled, when you are really retired, there is nothing else to do but only to enjoy, then your mind has reached such a part, you cannot relax. You forget the language of relaxing or enjoying. Then it becomes just restless. It starts running behind something. It starts running behind the past. You become weight on your own life. You become just a dead weight for your own life. You never enjoy your being. You continuously postpone, postpone, postpone, postpone, postpone everything. You just postpone. For everything you have a reason. You have reason. You say, ‘No, no, no, no. Let that happen. Then only I will be joyful. Till that happens I don’t think, I will be settled. Till this happens, I don’t think I am settled. I have to settle only when that happens.’ You are almost like a uprooted plant. Continuously you feel you are uprooted.

(14:20)

At no situation you feel you are homely, you can relax. In every situation you feel you have to run somewhere, you have to run, you have to run, you have to run. You are continuously on your running race. The worst problem in the rat race is even if you win you are rat. I always tell this. Even if you win, you are nothing but a rat. You just postpone, postpone, postpone. But I tell you when you really start living, when you really start penetrating into your being, only then your doing will have a clear direction. Only then your doing will have a clear purpose. Only then you will have a real creativity.

Till the moment you feel settled, whatever you may do, all your doings will be only half half, will not bring your creativity totally out. Why? Because, you have two energies; one is creating, one is planning, another one is worrying. I always tell the chronological tomorrow, psychological tomorrow. Chronological tomorrow means you plan what to do for tomorrow, what I should do for after one month, what I should do for after two month, what I should do for after three months, how I should be after one year?

(16:05)

Planning chronologically, planning for the life, chronological tomorrow, is perfectly alright. Chronological tomorrow is called creativity. It’s nothing wrong. But there is one more thing. Psychological tomorrow. Continuously worrying, whether it will happen or not, what way that will happen, what way this is going to happen, what way that is going to happen, what will happen if it happens this way, what will happen if it happens in that way; creating your own worries, creating your own imaginations.
There’s a beautiful saying from one of the Master who says 99% of your worries never come true. Whatever 1% comes true is always truth; always good for you. It is always good for you. But what we do? We continuously create unnecessary thoughts. We start building up unnecessary thinking, unnecessary bothering about every incident. I have seen many people before entering into the vehicle at least one thought they will have. Will I meet with an accident? Before entering into the flight, they will have one thought. Will flight land properly? Will I come back properly? For everything you have something negative. In every step, for every step, before entering into every decision, you have something negative. You have something which push pulls you back, which stops your growth. That is what I call it as a psychological tomorrow. Continuously worrying, bothering or getting disturbed about the tomorrow. When you are already worrying if somebody says even a small word, it totally injures you, injures your psychological system; because already you are just waiting to be injured. I tell you, nobody can disturb you unless you allow that to happen.

Worrying To Wondering || Part 2

Description

In this video Supreme Pontiff of Hinduism Jagatguru Mahasannidhanam His Divine Holiness Bhagavan Sri Nithyananda Paramashivam continues to expand on the Pain Body which is called Maya in Sanskrit.

The pain body continually hurts us even when there is no action that could cause pain. This is caused by a decision taken in a past memory and repeated over and over again. Worry adds to the pain by bringing all the painful possibilities to mind even though 99% of those possibilities never happen. This is how the unconscious mind is convinced that the problem is too big leading to an overload of stress and pain. Only when the emotions are separated from the memory the pain will disappear.

There are five faces /phases to Divine activity, Creation, Sustenance, Destruction (Rejuvenation), Forgetfulness ( Delusion) and Enlightenment (Liberation).

Lot of research on it… Pain Body. The pain body is only called by the word ‘Maya’ in Sanskrit “Yama iti Maya. Maya means, Which is not there but which continuously hurts you; which is not there, but which continuously hurts you - Maya. Now they call it in the modern terms, pain body. Let Me explain the basics of pain body then you will be able to understand.

[00:00:49]

You have so many past memories, incidences, suppressions or your past record. You have connected everything. Past memories to live the future life. That is why you collect. If the past memory is there, “Oh, Nithyananda Swami lecture, alright let us go. There will be meditation. We can have healing. Let us go.” You will have the past memory. With that past memory only you will be able to decide today whether to come here or not. Your decisions will be taken only by the past memory. From the past memory only you move to the next step; that is why you collect the past memory. Past memory has got a value to decide, that is true. But the problem is, if you have lost some money in the past li… in the past time… for example one million dollar in some share market. Now, if you lose your ten dollar, immediately the losing ten dollar will create an effect or the feeling psychologically the same pain which you underwent, when you lost one million dollar. Most of the time it will happen. If you are little aware then you will be able to understand.

[00:02:15]

First time worry is almost like a addiction. First day, to get a, get the, get addicted, to get the feeling, if you drink little bit that’s enough. Next day you will have to increase the quantity. After a year or two, how much you drink, you will not feel anything; you will become totally numb. Otherwise whole day you will be feeling the same way. 😃 You will be totally unconscious.

[00:02:43]

Just like, you need to increase the drugs, you need to increase the alcohol, the worry is also an addiction. First… it is actually the other way. First, one big incident is necessary to make you disturbed. Next, after by and by, as time passes, your pain body becomes so strong, your pain body becomes so solid. Even a small incident, even losing ten dollars, will create the same suffering, same depression, same mood, when you had ... the mood which you had when you lost the one million dollar. After some time, you don’t even have to lose ten dollar, just by remembrance you will have the same pain. Just a remembrance will bring the pain back. The pain body is only called as Maya, illusory, disturbance or the memory or the Chitta, memory which again and again creates the same psychological injury, same psychological effect, without the outer activity, without the outer reason.

[00:04:14]

I tell you one thing. There is a beautiful example in Vedanta. It is called Raju Sarpa. Whenever you see in the night time, in the dark time if you see a rope in your garden, suddenly you get a shock. You think it is a snake and you get the shock that it is a snake. Because of the past memories about the snake or the informations about the snake the ordinary rope looks like a snake. That past memory is brought and forced or projected on the present incident even though the present incident is not actually the past, like past.

[00:05:06]

Understand, all of you are able to catch, because it is a very subtle concept. To understand this in Vedanta, They take 2, 3 years. 2, 3 years they will explain this. It’s called Rajju Sarpa Jnaya. In so many aspects they will explain. If you understand this one concept, your whole life can be transformed. I am giving you in a modern language, the pain body.

[00:05:33]

The past experience, the hangover of the past experience or the memory of the past experience will be so deep, even the slightest remembrance of that experience, even you don’t have to lose money, if somebody loses money, immediately you will get the feeling, you will get the memory of the same thing. You will undergo the same suffering. The same thing will be awakened in your mind, in your system. The memory which is created for the sake of use, for the sake of further living, the same memory will become like a load on you. The same memory, when you start worrying, when it starts giving you the worry, it will become load on you. That is why as the age grows, you will see your eyes become dull.

[00:06:37]

In the East, with the Rishis, as they become old their eyes will start shining. In the West, as they become old, they age, their eyes become dull. Why? We do not know, how to withdraw ourself from the past memory.

[00:06:59]

Today morning I was speaking with the mind body group. This is the subject today morning I was trying to explain to them. When we know how to slip away from the mind, when you know how to come out of the mind, when you know a simple method to switch off or switch on the mind, you will be able to slip away from the memories, you will be able to slip away from the Chitta. Then, it is not that all the memories will be destroyed. No. it is not that you will lose all the memories. The memories will be there. The past incidences will be there, but the emotion attached to the memory will disappear. You will be able to remember the same person who has disturbed you, without being agitated, without getting the same feeling of enmity, without having the same feeling of hatredness, without having the same feeling of negative emotion. The same incidences, same feeling, same memory will be there, but the negative hatred towards him, towards the incident, towards that place will not be there.

[00:08:20]

One more thing, whenever the emotion attached to the memory is disconnected, all the memory will be available to you. You will have such a tremendous energy, all the memory will be available to you. Now, as on now you will have only the memory of this life. Somebody goes and asks Ramana Maharshi, “Bhagavan, please give me the memory to see my past life.” Bhagavan says, “Fool! The memory of this life itself you are not able to handle. You have so much of headache, disturbance, depression and if you get the memory of past life also what will happen? You will suffer more. You will not be able to bear. You will not be able to handle it.”

[00:09:10]

That is why, there is a special word called Trobhava. Trobhava means, making you forget. One of the activities of the God, God has got 5 activities. Creation, the Shrusti, Stithi, Laya, Trobava and Anugraha.

[00:09:33]

In Tantra they say 5 activities. In Vedanta only 3: Shrusti, Sthiti, Laya. Creation, sustaining and destroying. In Tantra they say 5: Shrusti - Creation, Sthiti - sustaining, Laya - destroying. There is one more thing - making you forget your nature or the past memories. Anugraha means, giving you Enlightenment. Giving you the spiritual knowledge. The Trobava or Trodana, they call it both the way, Trobava means making you forget.

[00:10:16]

Ramana Maharishi says, “Out of his Grace, out of compassion...God has make you, God has made you forget.” God has not given you deep memory. Out of his compassion he has made you forget all your past life. “Never try to know your past life.” First try to know how to drop, how to come out of these emotional attachments. How you can come out of, psychological past and psychological tomorrow. Psychological yesterday and psychological tomorrow. There is nothing wrong in chronological, yesterday or chronological tomorrow. But there is something deeply wrong with the psychological yesterday and psychological tomorrow.

[00:11:04]

You attach too much of your own concepts towards the past incidences. This simple example. If you lost 1 million dollar some time ago, you would have suffered, you would have created a memory, you would have created a system, or you would have created a verbalisations to correct yourself... “Oh! what has happened, I have to be careful’, this, that. So many inner chatterings to correct yourself. Now, if you lose even ten dollar, the same, amount of , same amount of fear, same amount of suffering will start happening to you. It is not necessary. The pain body when it becomes too thick, too solid, even a small thing, can provoke pain in you. Even a small thing can provoke pain in you.

[00:12:07]

The real incident. it is... happened. Once a lady, middle aged, some 40, she came to see Me. As soon as she came, entered inside the room, she started weeping and wailing. I told her, “Why are you weeping? Please tell me the problem.” She said, “My son is not at all listening to me. I do not know what will happen if the same thing continues. I may... I am afraid he may marry on his own.” In India, son means he is a good commodity, you can sell him for a best price 😃 Especially if he is a doctor or engineer. If he has got some social status you can sell him for a very good price. Dowry, and the amount, if you have 2, 3 sons, you don’t have to work at all. Just get 2, 3 sons and somehow make them doctors or engineers and a social stat..the position in which they will be, they will have their own social status, nothing else needs to be done. You can sell them in the market and get a good amount which will sustain your whole life.

[00:13:17]

So she started weeping, “He may marry on his own.” If he marries on his own then, she will not get the dowry. “He may marry on his own, what can I do? Please, uh, tell me something.” I told her, “Why don’t you bring your son. I'll talk to him. I'll talk to him. Then I’ll be able to solve the problem. Let us see, what is the problem.” Then she said, “No no no, I have brought.” She showed...she showed, 4 year old kid. You’ll be really surprised. I was actually shocked. She’s talking about the 4 year old boy. Too much of thinking. Too much of worrying. Too much of brooding over about the future. Actually when you listen this, you laugh. But if you look into your life, then you will understand how many places you are doing the same thing.

[00:14:18]

Whenever you too much invest yourself, you too much put your interest on something, if you put your interest on something too much, if you have too much vested interest then you will see, you will be thinking the same way. Your psychological system will be bothering you, your Consciousness too much. Four year old boy, she don’t have to bother. The marriage which is going to happen only after the 24 years. But, so much she is possessing, so much she is concerned. The reality is forgotten. She stopped receiving the reality. She started seeing, she started living in her own world.

[00:15:09]

Whenever, the pain body becomes too strong, you forget the reality. You start living in your own world. That is what they call it Maya, Illusoriness, Illusion. You do not know the reality. You start living with your own world. With money, with people, with situations, with your life comforts. You have so much of invested interest. You have so much of possessiveness, as I told you yesterday, the possessiveness never lets you live. Possessiveness just eats you. As long as you eat how much you want, you will eat the food. Once you eat too much, the food will eat you. The food will eat you.

[00:16:04]

Anything, any habit, if it is in a... under your control, you will be enjoying it. If you are under the control of that habit, you are under control, the habit will be enjoying you, that’s all. Whether you smoke or whether you smoke the cigarette or cigarette is smoking you, is the question. Whether you are drinking or alcohol is drinking you, is the question.

[00:16:29]

Most of the time, our pain body becomes so strong, so solid, so thick, you will never be living the life, the life will be living You. As long as the life is living you, as long as the pain body is living your life. You will see, every inch will be only pain. There are 2 things, physical pain and emotional pain. You may not have physical pain, but continuously there will be emotional pain. The emotional pain will make you sick either today or tomorrow. Even if you don’t feel physically painful, even if you don’t feel the physical, physical pain, the very emotional pain will make you continuously feel the heaviness. The solid feeling in you. Continuously you will feel heavy. You will feel heavy. Emotional pain is the real pain, which we undergo in... the life.

[00:17:38] The pain body, too much of worrying, too much of suffering, makes you continuously live in worry, continuously live in worry. Once you know the method or the technique to drop from the past, to drop from the future, to drop from brooding over, then you will see life becomes just wondering. Now you saw, what is worry. Let us see what is wondering.

Worrying To Wondering || Part 3

Description

In this video Supreme Pontiff of Hinduism HDH Nithyananda Paramashivam continues with Wondering about Life. Life is a Miracle - Every Being walking on the earth is a #Miracle and every step taken consciously is a Divine Event.

There is a beautiful Zen walking meditation; when you walk consciously you feel Mother Nature in every step.

Kids just live their life consciously and joyfully because they do not have a painful body . They do not reduce life by words or dove through their experiences.

Our minds react in every situation because we live in words which classify our experiences and create the pain body. When we do not live with joy or bliss ( Ananda) we are disrespecting God. The Divine lives in bliss (Ananda) and joy and prayer is the entrance to this divine state. When we walk through this door our whole life is immersed in wonder and becomes Puja, the great living prayer of Divinity.

[00:00:15]

Let us see what is wondering. Every moment, every moment of the life is nothing but a miracle. There is only two ways of living; either as if nothing is miracle or everything is miracle. Even your very walking. I always tell the people, walking on the water or walking on the fire is not a miracle, walking on the air is not a miracle, very walking on the Earth is a miracle.

[00:00:51]

Understand, if you start living… In Zen there is a beautiful thing called Vipassana walking. There is a meditation, walking meditation. If you do it, then only you will be able to understand. They say, when you walk, feel every step on the planet Earth. Feel, live every step. Feel the coolness, feel the earth, feel the mother nature. Of course, when you really practice Vipassana, then you will understand even walking on the Earth is miracle.

[00:01:31]

Every inch of our life is wondering, that is why you can see the... when the kids look at the life, when the kids see the things, they will be just living. When they see some lotus, or a flower, or nature, they don’t see, they just live. You can see the very physical change happening in them. The whole body will change. When they laugh you can see, they don’t laugh by mouth, they laugh through the whole being. Whole body will change, whole body will be bubbling. Why? Because they don’t reduce the life into words. They don’t live through words. They live directly relating. They don’t have pain body. They don’t have pain body. They do not have suppressed past. They don’t have a big head. They don't have much head weight. Suppressed past is the head weight. They don’t have past which is continuously suppressing them. That is why you can see, they relate with the world, they relate with the things very naturally.

[00:02:51]

When you see a rose flower, what happens in your mind? Immediately in your mind the word rose appears. The word rose, it is a rose. Immediately next thing will be, you mind will start thinking about the roses which you presented to somebody, or the roses which are presented to you, or the roses which are refused when you presented to somebody. All this thoughts will start coming up, then you will start linking your mind with that person’s, then thought will go on, go on, go on, you will miss the real rose. You will miss the real rose.

[00:03:31]

This is what happens with our mind in every situation. In every step, in every situation this is what happens. Either you don’t live at all, even if you start living you relate with the word. When the word comes up in your mind you leave the reality, mind starts living in the word. Just going around with the word.

[00:03:59]

The verbalization never allows you to live with the reality. When the kids see, they don’t use the word. They just see it as it is. You should understand one thing, the rose is a rose is a rose, rose is not a word rose. Rose is not a word rose. Rose is a rose. But what you do? You relate only with words. You reduce the reality into a word and you start relating with the words, missing the reality. Kids never do that. Kids just they see it as it is. For them everything is new. Everything is wonder, everything is miracle.

[00:04:51]

There was one great enlightened Master who lived in Central India. Last phase of his life, more than 10 years, he was under a diet. The same kind of food he used to eat - same greens and same rice. The devotee who used to cook for him, she got fed up. She went one day to him and asked: “Master, cooking the same food, I got bored, I am fed up. Are you not fed up eating the same food? Are you not bored eating the same food?” You should understand, the Master says: “Same food? I am not eating the same food every day. I may eat same kind of food but not same food. Everyday whatever is brought in front of me is new for me, I don't verbalize it. I don’t connect this food, with the yesterday’s food. For me everything is new. How can I eat the same food?” If you understand this one thing, you will understand the miracle of life. You will understand how life is new. Every day it is new. Everyday it is just changing.

[00:06:14]

There is a beautiful saying in the western philosophy: “You can never step into the same river twice”. You can never step into the same river twice. Why? The river continuously changes. Same water never comes back. I tell you, not only you cannot step into a river twice, you cannot step into a river even once. Because by the time your leg reaches the ground the water has changed. When you put your leg that is different water, by the time your feet reaches the ground, touches the sand, the water has changed. Every moment world is changing. Every moment things are new. But because of the past memory, emotions attached to the past memory, you never live the reality. You never live the real life. You never live the real Existence.

[00:07:21]

There is a beautiful Sutra in Taittiriya Upanishad “anandam brahmeti navyajanat”. Ananda is God. Bless is God, don’t waste it. Bliss is Divine, don’t waste it. What they mean Bliss is Divine? If you don’t live with a Bless, if you don’t live with a joy, with ecstasy, you will be wasting your life. Bliss is continuously happening to you, if you are not living with it, if you are not enjoying it, if you are not... if your being is not merging into it, you are just wasting your life. It's like a somebody brought and presented you a beautiful rose bouquet, if you don’t enjoy that bouquet, if you just push aside the bouquet, what are you doing? You are disrespecting the person who gifted that to you. Same thing, when you don't live the life with a joy, with a mood of wondering, you are disrespecting the God who gave you that bouquet, who gave you the gift.

[00:08:34]

People, many people I have seen, from morning till night they worship the God. They do all prayers but they forget how to live the life joyfully, how to live the life ecstatically. I always tell them, then be very sure God will never grace you. The real worship is living joyfully, ecstatically. The real puja you can do to God, a real prayer is nothing but ecstasy and bliss. Real prayer is the living with ecstasy, living with joy, living with bliss.

[00:09:13]

When you live the moments, every moment with a wonder, with a beautiful life with ecstasy, as if you are looking everything newly, you will see your very living on this earth is a Blessing for this Earth. Your very living is so graceful, your very living is a puja. Your very living is a spiritual practice. There is a beautiful stotra by Shankara. He says: “My walking is pradakshina. My sleeping is meditation. My eating is Naivedya. My breathing is Chamara.” So just your very existence is blessing for the planet Earth. Just your very existence is the great prayer for the planet Earth. Just your very existence will become a great worship, will become a great blessing, will become a great prayer towards the Divine. The real way to live, real way to face the reality.

[00:10:28]

There is a one more Sutra in Ishavasya Upanishad:

“Whatever exists is God”

ईशवस्यम् इदम् सर्वम् IshAvAsyaM idaM sarvaM Whatever exists is God. If whatever exists is God, why are you not enjoying it? Why are you not happy? Then you must be in Bliss. Why we are not blissful? Because we reduced the God to the word God. We reduced the rose to the word rose. We don't enjoy the Reality. We enjoy only the words. You live only with the verbalization. You live only with the mind. You live only with the pain body. Never the ecstasy. Never the reality. Never the joy.

[00:11:19]

Just slip out of the words, slip out of the mind, start living with the reality. Very small things. Whenever you sit, relax for few minutes. Sit next to your garden and try to relate with the garden without the word tree, without the word garden, without the word green, without thinking about “Oh, I have not paid the gardener. I am yet to pay this week. Oh, this man charges too much, let me change the gardener.” Without thinking… “I have to put water, I have to put this, that.” Or without thinking “In my friend's house I saw a beautiful garden, I should bring that here.” Without bothering, without allowing these thoughts, just relate with what is existing. Just see what is there. You will see a strange, new relationship will start happening between you and the garden.

[00:12:20]

Whenever you go to see the nature, a snow mountains, or the hillocks, or the ocean, try to relate with the nature without words. But what you do? As soon as you see mountain: “Oh, what beautiful mountain, look, look oh, look at here.” You try to verbalize it. When you verbalize, you don’t really enjoy, be very clear. Try to relate with the mountain, without the word mountain, as it is, without the words. Then you will see every inch of your life will be in wondering instead of worrying.

[00:13:06]

Simple things. In everything don't try to relate with the past, don't try to bring your memory. Whenever you look at somebody, try to see them without their name. Once you bring their name you bring concept about them, how much they have exploited you, how much they have cheated you, you have all only bad memories. There is a small saying: If you do 100 good things and only 1 bad thing, the man will remember only that bad thing. If you do 100 bad thing and do only 1 good thing, God will remember only that one good thing. Because as we are human beings, we remember only the bad things.

[00:13:49]

Whenever you remember some name, you can see you remember all the bad things. Try to relate with the persons without bringing their name into the mind. Just in a simple way, try with your friends, try with your relatives then you will start seeing, relating with the persons without the memory, without the emotional pains. It's a very simple thing but it can give you the key, technique to start living, how to start living and stop worrying. How to start living the life with a wonder, with a mood of ecstasy, with a mood of bliss, with a mood of joy.

[00:14:37]

Today we will enter into a small meditation technique from Tantra to slip out of the words, to switch off the inner chattering. A simple technique. Today we will enter into the technique. So, by having this wisdom and having this meditation, let you move from worrying to wondering, let you move from suffering to Bliss. Let you be in, become one with eternal Bliss, Nithyananda. Thank You.

[00:15:15]

If you have few questions on this subject, something more, you can ask. Will throw, will try to throw some light on this. No questions, everybody has understood everything. That’s nice.😃 Yes?

[00:15:40]

Participant: “Swamiji, what part of your past life memory is painful?” HDH: Not, not pas (...) Don’t bother about past life memory. Even in this life memory, past memories. Leave about the past life memory, past life memory is totally disconnected. You don’t have the, have touch with that. That is why you are at least sane, or so-called sanity is happening. If the past life memory also comes you can be sure it is, it will not have, you will not have even the sanity which you have now

[00:16:15]

A small story. One man suddenly started thinking that he is Jawaharlal Nehru. He started acting like Jawaharlal Nehru, he started acting like a, speaking like Jawaharlal Nehru, he started doing everything like Jawaharlal Nehru. He was taken to a asylum. Six months he was there; somehow in the asylum they know how to torture you. By torturing, torturing, torturing, he became normal. He understood that he is not Jawaharlal Nehru. The day before he was to be released, coincidentally, strange ways, coincidence, Jawaharlal Nehru himself visited that asylum. So, they went and they told Jawaharlal Nehru: “We want to introduce you a strange patient who thought himself as a Nehru. Please we will introduce you to him”. Nehru was at that time Prime Minister. So, this person was brought and to Nehru they introduced: “He is the person/patient who thought himself as a Jawaharlal Nehru. Now he has become alright, now he is doing well. He will be released in one or two days.” After the introduction, that person asked Nehru: “Who are you?” Because that person has never seen, or may not have, never met actually the person Nehru. “Who are you?” The Nehru said: “I am Jawaharlal Nehru, I am the Prime Minister of the country.” Immediately this person replied: “Oh, is it so? Alright, stay here for six months, they will make you alright. They will make you understand who you are.”

[00:18:03]

So, most of the time, the past memory makes you insane. So that man thought Jawaharlal Nehru is also patient who thinks himself as a Jawaharlal Nehru. So, if you have the past memory there is no possibility of being insa...being sane. By God’s grace, out of his compassion you lost, you forgot the past life memory, that is why you are sane. So, better you don't bother about the past life memories.

(00:15)

Questionnaire : Swami where do the past memories reside?

HDH: Hmm. They do reside in your own system. I tell you… I can tell you in this way. They reside in the existence but the way to access that past memory is residing in your body. There are one or two energy centres which I don’t want to tell you. If I start telling the energy centre you will start working on it. Anyhow let me tell. Even if you work you cannot access. Mooladhara is the chakra through which you can access the past life memories, Chitta. Chitta is like a universal bank, universal memory. If you work on the Mooladhara, even without learning, you can bring a language to your mind. Even without learning you can bring some knowledge to your mind. If you know the method you can, you will have access to the Chitta - Hard Disc of the whole Universe. You will be able to access to the Hard Disc of the whole Universe.

Participant: You mean to say that not only the memories that you have recorded?

(01:24)

HDH: The memories everybody has recorded. The whole universe memory. See the Universal Chitta and your Chitta is not two big different things. It’s hardly only one wall. Only one wall. This side is your memory, that side is Universal memory. If you can access to your memory, past life memory, you can verily access to the Universal memory. It’s not a big thing. Hmm. You can have access to both the memories.

That is why in all the puranas of all the world, all over the world in all culture, in every purana there’s a mention about the Pralaya and the Big Bang. The Big Bang, the appearance of the Universe is mentioned, depicted in the same way. Same way, ditto. If you read how the world is created in different scriptures, you will see the same description. You will be surprised; because, everything is written in a different time by different person. They do not even know the languages. One is written in Hebrew, one is written in Sanskrit, one is written in Pali, one is written Arabia, in different language. But the expression and the description is so clear, so just like a as if the person has translated from the other language, translated. You will be surprised why it is so clear; it is the same about the Big Bang and the Pralaya. Why it is same? So clearly depicted in all the languages. Because of this Universal memory.

You can travel into that Universal memory. The Masters, the people who have become enlightened, they travel into the Universal memory and bring back the memory and write. That is why in all the puranas the same way it is depicted. The Bible, in the Koorma Purana, in the Brahmanda Purana, in the Quran, in the Dhammapada, everywhere you can see the same way of description exists. Old Testament, everywhere. The same way of description is existing. This is the reason.

(03:38)

Participant: Swamiji, you just said that past memories are blocked out and it should not… because they don’t want to affect this life.

HDH: Actually if you drop out from your past memories… you see I tell you one thing. This life itself you have some past memory - the life which you have lived. If you become matured, if you grow out of this memory, even with this memory if you are not affected, even with this memory you will be able to remember the incident but you are not emotionally disturbed, when you become matured you will be able to access the past memory, past life memory. You understand?

(04:20)

Participant: Yes. But what I am saying is when the past life memory has been blocked out how can the past karma will affect this life?

HDH: Aaaa. Past Karma means it is not that the Karma actually follows you. The mental set up to respond the Karma follows you. Understand, the tendency to respond only follows you. Not that same Karma follows you. The tendency to respond follows you. That is why in the past time, if you have lost one million dollar, in the past life if you have lost one million dollar, you know how to suffer. The tendency is following. In this life, if you lost, lose ten dollar, the same tendency, you start worrying. So the incidents will not follow. But the responses, the method in which you respond, the tendencies follow you. Tendencies are only called as Karma. Not exactly the incident. Tendencies are only real Karmas.

The karmic effect, that’s what they call bija, seed of karmas only follow. Karma bija only follows not the karma itself. If Karma itself follows, you will not be able to finish. When will you finish? Because you acquired for so many thousands of janmas. You can never finish it. Only Karma bija follows. If you burn the bijas, if you break the tendencies, when you start living consciously as I was telling yesterday, when you surrender the tendencies, surrendering tendencies only is surrendering the karmas to the Master. When you surrender the tendencies to live with suffering at the feet of Bliss, the Master’s feet, the eternal Bliss, you take up the tendency to live with eternal Bliss, Nithya Ananda. Now you have the tendency of Mithyananda. When you drop that, you pick up the tendency of Nithyananda.

(06:13)

I always tell the people when you give up, when you surrender everything of yours to me, when you give everything of yours to Me, I give everything of Mine to you. When you give your “I and Mine”, you have my “I and Mine”. There is a verse, the stotra which says, a devotee is asking singing towards the God, “Oh God! You think You are intelligent person. You do not know how intelligent I am. I gave my life, my misery, my suffering, my personality at your feet and got your personality to me. Then who is intelligent? I gave ‘me’ to “You” and got “You” to ‘me’. So, don’t think you are intelligent. I am intelligent. 😃

Path of Meditation || Part 4 || Initiation into Powerful Cognitions || 12 Feb 2004

Description

Name of the Convention: Initiation into Powerful Cognitions Session on: Path of Meditation Part 4 Venue : California, USA Date : 12 February 2004

In this video Supreme Pontiff of Hinduism Jagatguru Mahasannidhanam His Divine Holiness Bhagavan Sri Nithyananda Paramashivam explains the various States of Mind and how our Mind works. Swamiji Explains Powerful truths about Four states of consciousness, that human beings experience regularly are waking state, dream state, deep sleep state, and the fourth state, Turiya, the state of enlightened beings. He went on to explain about Aparoksha jnana, the Knowledge which is gathered, and Aparoksha jnana the knowledge which is Experienced. Spirituality does not have any faith; it is rooted in Cosmic Truth. Also Described the Details of Iyama, Niyama, Asana, Pranayama, Pratyahara, Dharana, Dhyana, samadhi Patanjali is an unabridged dictionary of world philosophy. Iyama: has five branches, ahimsa Non-violence, Astheya, non-stealing, Sathya, truthfulness, aparigraha, living with less, and brahmacharya, living like a God on planet earth, which includes celibacy. While Expressing the Quality of the Mind, Swamiji simply explains that ‘’Mind and energy is like a mother in law and daughter in law, if you try to make them silent, they will fight more. They both are possessed by each other in the same way your mind is possessed by the consciousness’’ You can say yes to only one person, not to two-people.In the same way, if you say yes to the mind you will say no to meditation. When you get solidified, you get integrated, when you let go of your mind, it goes it's own way. Only when you live Sathya, truthfulness, in mind, word, and deed, is it authentic. The Whole perspective of science towards the east and spirituality, is the last word of science, ‘’everything that exists is energy’’. Where science ends spirituality starts. When you live your life according to others’ choices or opinions you make your whole life a lie, and do not live the life you took birth for. At End, he also Explains about Varnashrama Dharma - The Ancient Varana System, which was Beautifully holding the Structure of the Society in its Authenticity. And in course time it got diluted by an Anti-HIndu Elements.

The Supreme Pontiff of Hinduism Jagatguru Mahasannidhanam His Divine Holiness Bhagavan Sri Nithyananda Paramashivam (HDH) is the reviver of #KAILASA - the ancient enlightened civilization and the great cosmic borderless Hindu nation. (0:54)

I welcome you all. We are coming to the last portion of our series of discourse-The path of meditation ending. Day before yesterday, we saw the path of meditation starting, yesterday - path of meditation walking, today-path of meditation ending. The great spiritual navigator Patanjali Yoga Sutras...they have to end those are angry. They also have to end. That is why they are running as fast as possible.

(01:57)

We saw about the Yama, Niyama, Pranayama. Yama, Niyama, Asana, Pranayama, Pratyahara-all these five we finished. Now we will have to understand the Dharana, Dhyana and Samadhi... We need to know surely about the ending. People may think, ‘Why should we know about the ending of the meditation? Why should we know about the end? If we know how to start and how to walk, that is enough.’ But if you don’t know how to end, most of the time, you make a big mistake. Either you end much earlier or you continue to walk-missing the goal where you are supposed to stop. Both are the big mistakes. By doing both, you will miss the destination.

(03:17)

A small story. Mukund started one day to Miami beach to spend his vacation. Got into the Florida highway, drove, drove, drove. Suddenly in three days, he was back to his house, didn’t spend the vacation in the beach. People in the neighbourhood asked, “What happened? Why did you come back? Why are you back again?” Mukund replied, “I saw a big board ‘Miami beach left’. So I came back! Saw a big board, sign board which says ‘Miami beach left’. Then I thought, Oh! Miami beach has left. So I came back.” Most of the time, by not knowing where to end, we miss the destination. We do not even know where to end our practices, our spiritual practices, our meditation techniques. Knowledge or the wisdom about the ending gives you the clarity not only where to end, where you should not end. Both are given to you by the clarity of the path of meditation ending.

(05:01)

Let Me explain few things about the ending. Then we will enter into the subject. Spirituality, much prior to the Enlightenment, much prior to the real thing which is to be achieved, the main thing Patanjali says is miracle powers. Miracle powers are the powers where you think you have reached. It’s like you enter into the train thinking to reach Madras. From Bangalore you get into the train thinking of reaching the Madras. In between, you find some city which is colourful, big, looks very rich. Immediately you think, ‘This is the Madras. This is the destination.’ You get down from the flight. You get down from the train.

(06:03)

Of course, if you go by flight, you have no problem. Train is journey by yourself. Flight is going with the grace of the Master. With the grace of the Master, you don’t have the problem. You will exactly land where you are supposed to land, but most of us travel only by ourself. Most of us don’t get the nearness or the presence of the Guru, presence of the Master. At least the people who live in the West, they have to be naturally travel on themselves, travel on their own. They cannot have the nearness of the Master. Of course, once you are near the Master, it is more or less like a flight journey. You don’t need to do anything. Everything will be served directly to you.

(06:53)

Miracle powers are the powers with which your growth, your spiritual growth can be stopped. You may think that you have reached the goal. What are the miracle powers? There are thousands and thousands of miracle powers which can be achieved by this meditation when you start or when you walk. Patanjali says on thousands and thousands of miracle powers. I will explain to you the basic miracles, basic powers which you gain. Actually if you read Patanjali deeply, if you read the Yoga Sutras, you understand there is no such thing as miracle in the world. Whatever happens is just a clear science. When you don’t know the logic, it is a miracle. If you know the logic, nothing is a miracle, imagining.

(07:57)

For example, understand one thing. Suddenly by some war or a natural calamity, all the radios in the world are lost. Only one man has got only one piece of radio. All the radio is lost. Only one person has got only one piece of radio. Then what will become? What will happen to him? He will be just worshipped as a god because he will say, “I have one box which can sing by itself, which can give the news by itself. If you just tune to that box, that box will tell you when the earthquake is going to come, when the flood is going to come, when the rain is going to come. If I tune to that box, that can sing. If I tune to that box, that can tell stories.”

(08:48)

If you have only one radio in the whole world, the man who is having the radio will become a god, because it looks like a something extraordinary. Nobody knows what it is, nobody knows how it functions, nobody knows the logic or the science in which it works. When nobody knows the logic or the science how it works, the way in which it functions, then that thing will be called as a miracle. But when you know the way in which it works, the way in which the message or the ways are relayed, the way in which radio is tuned, the way in which radio starts singing or telling the stories or giving you the news, when everything is known, it is no more a miracle, just an ordinary thing. When things are not known, it is more or less like a miracle.

(09:52)

The same way, all the miracles, whatever you see in the spiritual world, I can tell you in a serial way, some five special kind of miracles which you find in the spiritual personalities. First thing: telling the future. Telling the... predicting the future is the first kind of miracle power. The second thing: Janavasya-whomsoever sees them, they will not be able to forget them. The whole mass will be just mesmerised. Just they will follow them. They will follow wherever the Master goes. The power of jana vasya. The third thing: materialisation. Materialising the vigrahas, materialising the ash, materialising the objects, the teleporting the objects. That is the third power. The fourth: whatever they utter will become reality. The fifth ultimate power: power to heal the disease, power to destroy the karma. These are the five levels of powers, five levels of miracles.

(11:22)

If the logic, if the path to achieve these powers if it is not known, they are miracles just like the radio. If you know very clearly how to have each and every power and what is the technique or what is the method to have that powers and how you can handle those powers, it is no more a miracle. It is just anybody can have it, anybody can achieve it. It is only one dimension of your own being. If you doesn’t know how to use the radio, the secrets of radio, the science of radio, you will look at it as a miracle. When you know the whole secret, it is just an ordinary thing. Same way, whatever you see in the name of miracle in the spiritual world, all these five great powers are nothing but the clear, spiritual expression, the energy expression in different chakras, in different chakras. A man who knows the logic will understand it is just a science anybody can achieve.
