Meaning: He (Lord Subramanya) happened with the radiance of a 1000 suns with 6 faces and 12 hands, to bestow the auspiciousness to the whole world. - Skanda Maha Purana, Shankara Samhita, Saambava Kaandam, 26th Adhyaya, SRI Skandavatara, 16th & 17th sloka

THAIPOOSAM is a Festival dedicated to Lord Subramanya, the deity of victory, strength and protection.

THAIPOOSAM is celebrated as the day Devi Parashakti gave Subramanya His Divine Vel (Spear) with which to defeat evil forces. Worshipping Lord Subramanya on this day helps us conquer all our fears, and win over inner & outer world enemies. 🔱

On this Auspicious occasion, Kailasa Houston celebrated with Grand Offerings & Festivities such as PAL KUDAM, ABHISHEKAM, ALANKARAM, PUSHPA ARCHANA & the Chanting of SUBRAMANYA BHUJANGAM.

Devotees in Kailasa Houston ceremoniously carried the PAL KUDAM (milk pots) on their heads, symbolizing the carrying our difficulties on our shoulders and depositing them at His feet for remedy. Milk brings Prosperity and Wellness, and carrying milk pots is an act of thanksgiving, to be poured as Sacred Bath for Lord Subramanya.
