With the blessings of THE SUPREME PONTIFF OF HINDUISM (SPH), BHAGAVAN SRI NITHYANANDA PARAMASHIVAM — the ultimate manifestation, Paramavatara of Paramashiva — KAILASA Salem celebrated the highly auspicious Pongal Celebrations on January 13, 2025. This sacred Hindu harvest festival focused on expressing profound gratitude to the Sun God, Surya, and honoring Shiva Surya, the manifestation representing the Right Eye of Paramashiva. These traditional observances, including the performance of the sacred Shiva Suryapooja and the preparation of the special harvest offering known as Suryan Pongal, served to invoke divine blessings for health, prosperity, and enlightenment for all beings. The day’s activities powerfully reinforced KAILASA’s mission of reviving the ancient enlightened Sanatana Hindu civilization and connecting devotees with the state, space, powers, being and superconsciousness of Paramashiva.

Pongal Celebrations

The Pongal Celebrations held at KAILASA Salem marked the transition of the Sun and celebrated the traditional Hindu harvest festival, known as Pongal. This ancient festival is fundamentally an expression of gratitude to Surya, the Sun God, whose boundless energy is crucial for sustaining life, ensuring bountiful harvests, and illuminating the world. This integral practice of recognizing and honoring divine forces in the cosmos fosters a deep spiritual connection and aligns devotees with the sacred rhythms of Sanatana Hindu Dharma.

A central highlight of the celebration was the preparation and offering of Suryan Pongal. This sacred dish is traditionally made from freshly harvested rice, milk, and jaggery, symbolizing abundance and the sweet rewards of the harvest. It is cooked and offered to Surya as a profound act of devotion and respect for the cycle of nature and life itself. This focus on ritual and horticulture aligns deeply with the principles established by THE SPH, which stress the importance of reverence for all elements of creation, seeing them as direct manifestations of Paramashiva.

Complementing the harvest celebration, devotees performed the potent Shiva Suryapooja, a sacred worship ritual dedicated specifically to Shiva Surya. As revealed by THE SPH, Shiva Surya represents the eternal power manifesting through the Right Eye of Paramashiva—the ultimate source of all illumination, knowledge, and spiritual growth. The pooja involved various specific offerings, prayers, and traditional Hindu rituals designed to seek blessings for robust health, material prosperity, and, most importantly, spiritual enlightenment, enabling participants to transcend ordinary consciousness.

Through the disciplined and heartfelt performance of these rituals, participants were enabled to connect with the divine energy of Shiva Surya, acknowledging His role in illuminating human lives with the light of knowledge and superconsciousness. These combined practices of Suryan Pongal and Shiva Suryapooja emphasize the core teachings gifted by THE SPH: the necessity of acknowledging divine energies, expressing sincere gratitude, and actively manifesting the state, space, powers, being and superconsciousness of Paramashiva in daily life. The successful observance of this crucial annual festival documents KAILASA’s commitment to the global revival and preservation of authentic Hindu traditions, ensuring these ancient spiritual technologies remain vibrant and accessible to all seekers of consciousness awakening.
