A small story, it happened actually in My life. I was staying in Himalayas at that time. A small ashram, ashram means it is not a structure, buildings like this, it’s a thatched roof, thatched roof, small, small thatched roofs… door. Only one person can stay in one hut, like this one few huts. The specialty of that ashram is, regularly, every night, tigers will come there. It is tiger haunted. Tiger haunted!

(1:11)

One night, some tigers have entered, they started shouting, roaring not even shouting. One elderly Swami who was experienced, he shouted ‘Hey, all of you close your doors.’ Closing the door is not going to help, because if the tiger gives one push in the door, the wall itself will give way! Like these small hut. At least keep some stones to support your door, so even if the tiger pushes, the door doesn’t give way. So all of us closed our doors and get some stones to support the door. Next day around ten o'clock that Swami came out to see how we are all doing, and how everybody is. We all shouted, and daytime actually tigers go away; he shouted and we all came out. Everyone is there except one, one person is missing. We rushed to his cottage, his hut. We saw the cottage is locked! So we were about to open and see, we wanted to open and break it and see, and this Swami shouted, ‘Hey don’t do, never do that, because tiger maybe entered inside through top! And might have had his dinner and waiting for the breakfast to be served inside the room.

(2:53)

You do not know, first let us call. We all shouted ‘Swami, Swami’. We got the voice from inside, we got the reply, he shouted back, ‘Oh Swami, I’m here please come inside and take me out!’ We thought something is wrong; we broke the window, entered inside. Inside we saw he supported a stone to the gate, to his door. We moved the stone, four or five of us put together, we with such a lot of effort we moved the stone, opened the door and brought him out. I asked him, ‘Now four or five of us put together, only we could move that stone; how did he move the stone yesterday night alone?’ Because, yesterday night there was nobody to help him.

(3:51)

He said, ‘What, I moved the stone! When I heard the tiger is coming, I simply lifted the stone, and supported to the door’. And it’s not a small stone, two hundred kg stone. The stone with which they grind the wheat and oil. In North India they make rotis, chapati. For that they will put the wheat and oil to grind; that stone! Two hundred kg, stone! Not one feet or two feet. Three hundred, walk with the stone from kitchen to his room. When we heard the tiger is coming, he rushed to the kitchen and he couldn't find any stone, so he picked up this stone and walked all over, walked all over from the kitchen to his room; three hundred feet carrying the two hundred kg stone and supported the stone to his room. I asked him, ‘How did you manage?’ He says ‘Swamiji I also do not know; early morning I saw the stone inside my room, I never thought I’ll carry such a big stone! Morning when I woke up l saw this such a big stone inside my room. And morning I’m not able to move’. The same guy, he was able to move the stone at night, but morning not able to move. You need to understand one thing, we have tremendous potential energy than we think, than we imagine. The same guy, the same man, when it is necessary, when there’s an urgency, when there is an emergency, he is able to release tremendous energy.

We have a three layers of energy. First layer is the layer which you use for the day-to-day affairs. Just morning eight o’clock you get up and evening six o’clock you are out, over! You wanted to go and rest. You feel, ‘Nothing more, enough. Let me go and rest.’ The energy which you use for the day-to-day activities is the first layer of energy. There is a second layer of energy which is released only at the time of emergency, when it is necessary like this tiger. For you there is no need even tiger. One dog is enough to...now if your speed, running speed is ten miles per hour, if a dog chases you, it will be thirty miles per hour especially India, special for street dogs. Anyhow, the energy which is released at the time of emergency is second layer. Third layer is the spiritual energy, the energy with which Masters, Enlightened Masters do healing or spiritual darshan or the materialization-all the extraordinary power, it is called third layer of energy.

(01:48)

If a man reaches the third level of energy and stays there, he is God, that’s all. Third layer of his energy is the energy which moves the Universe. First layer is physical, second layer is psychological, third layer is spiritual. First layer is the energy of physical body. Whatever you are using everyday, the first layer, the day-to-day affairs. Second layer is the energy of psychological. Whenever you are in emergency, that layer will be released and whenever you are under pressure, that layer will be released. There is the third layer of energy which is released only by the meditation, only by the spiritual masters. All the three layer of energy, all the three layers, they meet with each other at this throat center. By penetrating the throat center, Vishuddhi it is called. Vishuddhi. Vishuddhi is the throat center. All of you see. Throat center.

(03:14)

Devotee: Why is it called vishuddhi?

(03:19)

Swamiji: I was about to explain. You asked the question. Shuddhi means purity. Ashuddhi means impurity. Vishuddhi means beyond purity and impurity. Karma means work, doing. Akarma means non-doing, laziness. Vikarma means beyond doing and non-doing. So shuddhi means purity, ashuddhi means impurity, vishuddhi means beyond purity and impurity. It is always pure. Only thing, you need to open it and use it, that’s all. This energy center is always pure. It never gets contaminated. That is why it is called vishuddhi - Vishuddha. Shuddhi is the purity. It neither gets contaminated nor needs to be cleansed. It is there alive always. This energy center is the energy center in which all the three layers meet. You can penetrate to the second layer, third layer energy center if you work on this energy center. You can penetrate the second layer and third layer energy by working on this center. It is like a gate, door to the second layer and third layer.

(04:41)

Understand, our being is like a ocean of energy, just a ocean of energy but have you seen the boat jetty where they stop the boats in harbors? What, here they call? In India they call boat jetty. Here? Audience: Pier Swamiji: Pier, where they stop the boats, where the small…. The pier is also a portion of the ocean only but you can see a small wall will be built. There will be a stone wall. Why? So that the water can be stable, so that the waves will not be too much. For the sake of utility, they make a stone wall. Even if there is a stone wall, ocean and the pier is one and the same and there will be one place where you can go in and come out. You can get into the ocean or get out of the ocean. Just like a pier and the ocean, you are connected to God. You are nothing but ocean. You are god. For the sake of utility, you have created your own small boat jetty or you created your walls. You created your own walls.

(06:20)

By and by, you never travel to the ocean. You stay only in the pier. So after long time, you forget you belong to the ocean, ocean belongs to you. You think this is only your boundary. You are only this much. You start living only with the first layer. When you are born, you are connected to all the three layers. By and by, when you...in the process of bringing you up, no, bringing you down, you settle in your mind for the first layer of energy. You make a small boundary. You think, ‘This much only I can do. This much only I can do. This is my capacity.’ You make a wall, stone wall. Then slowly, slowly, slowly you stop travelling into the ocean at all. You use only the boat jetty, pier. Then after few years of conditioning what happens? You forget you belong to ocean; ocean belongs to you. Just you simply forget.

(07:39)

That is the only problem between you and the Enlightened Master. Masters again and again tell you, you belong to ocean. You again and again tell, “No, no,no. We belong to only this pier.” We belong to only this pier. Because long time, you have not travelled inside the ocean. Long time you have not tasted the second layer and third layer of your energy. That is the reason you stopped believing it. You start telling there is no such thing as ocean exists. You are not able to grasp. You are not able to conceive that there is something like a ocean exists. Devotee: So during this emergency situation, do people quickly run to the ocean and run back again? Swamiji: It is like a just the entrance of the ocean, entrance of the boat jetty. You jump and come back, that’s all or a little bit of water from ocean enters into you, that’s all.

If you know how to handle or how to open the third, three layers of energies, not only you will have the spiritual growth, your day-to day life, your practical life will become more alive. Now you can see, once it is evening eight o’clock, you are over! Finished! Anything after the eight o’clock looks like hell and our whole life we can see, how many times we suffer due to lack of energy. So many things we don’t enjoy or we don’t live. Why? Lack of energy. Already you are tired or you are bored. The lack of energy is a big curse for the humanity. It’s actually a big curse. Lack of energy is a main reason for stress. Stress will have no meaning if you know how to work on the third, the vishuddhi chakra, the vishuddhi center. How this energy center gets locked? Why you don’t use?

(01:30)

There are two kinds of ego: aggressive ego and passive ego. Aggressive ego is the thing which says, ‘I am this, I am that, I am big’ which makes you feel something more than what you are, which continuously says, ‘I am this, I am this, I am this.’ That is aggressive ego. The beauty in aggressive ego is, even if you are egoistic, society will teach you. You will have very good blows wherever you go, you get a good blows. So you understand you are egoistic and you adjust yourself. You work on yourself. There is a next thing, passive ego which says, ‘Oh, I am nobody. I am nothing. I do not know anything. I cannot do anything. I cannot do this. I cannot do that.’ Aggressive ego is the ego which shows you something more than what you are. Passive ego is the ego which shows you something lower than what you are.

(02:39)

See, the passive ego is never disturbed by the society. If you say you are nobody, nobody will disturb you. People will praise you, ‘Oh, you are a man of humbleness, humility.’ Whenever you take refuge with the passive ego, you do not even know you are egoistic but passive ego is much worse than aggressive ego. At least with aggressive ego, you will know you are egoistic. In passive ego, you do not even know you are egoistic. Passive ego is the wall of pier. Passive ego is the wall of that boat jetty. You have your own idea about yourself-low self esteem. Low self esteem is the wall which makes you not to enter into the ocean, which prevents you from enjoying the third layer of energy, enjoying your being. Passive ego is the root for the self, what to say...the low self esteem or comparison, jealousy. Comparison and jealousy are the by-products of low self esteem.

(03:59)

Once you understand you are something more than what you think, you are really something far, far, far beyond than what you imagine, you will never have jealousy or comparison because you know there is enough in the world for everyone. There is no need to have jealousy or comparison. Jealousy or comparison locks this chakra when you understand you are unique, you are something far, far beyond than what you imagine as you are. As on now, we have our own boundary. Mentally you have an idea about you. The idea which is given to you by others about you. Actually you do not know who you are. If somebody says you are beautiful, you catch that idea. If somebody says you are good person, you catch that. If somebody says you are talkative, you catch that. If somebody says you are good mother, you catch that.

(05:00)

Whomsoever has given certificates to you, you collect all those certificates and what you do? You create an imagination about yourself, idea about yourself. So the imagination or the idea about yourself is just nothing but the boat jetty wall, the low self esteem. This low self esteem is the ego or the wall which resists you from enjoying the ocean. You can see, in thousands of places you take decisions comparing with others. I tell you one thing, whenever you take decision comparing with others, you end up only in foolishness. The greatest problem in the rat race is, even if you win you are a rat. You are nothing more than a rat. Mark these words. Have it in your bedroom. The greatest problem with the rat race is, even if you win, you are a rat!

(06:12)

Devotee: A faster rat. Swamiji: (laughs) That’s all. Nothing more than that but surely you are not a rat. You are something far, far superior than what you imagine as you are. A small story. What all the foolishness we do if we compare and decide, if you are jealous of others. So many times you can see, even you can scan your life. Just because your brother has done this, you will try to do that and end up in failure. Not only failure, foolishness. Just because your sister has done that, you will start doing that. Then where you will end up? In foolishness. You will look fool. Whenever you compare and start doing the things, you never grow. People ask Me, “Swamiji, should we not compare with our high ideals?” I tell you, whenever you compare and work, you will grow only as they have grown, not as you are.

(07:27)

Compare with yourself and grow. Then you will grow in unique way. You will not grow as they have grown. If you compare and grow, even if you grow, you will not have the satisfaction that you lived your life because you are living their life. A clear individual independence is the basic necessity for growth. Vivekananda says beautifully in one of his discourse freedom is the basic condition for any growth. So if you really want to grow in your being, in your life, a clear independence and clear freedom is the basic. If you are comparing and growing, you are psychologically slave. You will work only how they work. You will grow only in the line of they grow. You will never create a path. You will only be travelling in the others’ path. Yes?

(08:34)

Devotee: Where do you make the difference between say, comparing and learning from someone? Swamiji: Why? Devotee: How do you make a difference between comparing with someone and try to do it or learning from someone and trying to do it?

(08:49)

Swamiji: In learning, you will have your creativity. You will learn only the basic line. You will have your creativity. In comparing, totally you will be copying. Only you will have your name, nothing else but in learning, you will have totally your style, way. That is the basic thing. You can very clearly scan and you can differentiate and see. Whenever you compare and work, even if you accomplish some achievement, you will not feel the satisfaction that you achieved. You will not feel the bliss in your being that you achieved. If you work on your own, if you learn and do it, even a small thing will give you a tremendous satisfaction.

(09:34)

A small poetry, a small pottery, a small painting, a small art will give you so satisfied, so much of satisfaction you will be feeling fulfilled. A small design will be giving too much of satisfaction or it will be just too much of bliss but if you just compare and do, even if you accomplish thousands of things, you will not have the inner joy. I always tell the people, “Architect will have bliss; contractor will have money” because architect creates. A real designer is an artist. He just opens up his being and brings out his creativity. Real designer is a more or less like a poet. A real architect is more or less like a poet. He will always see a man who creates will have a tremendous satisfaction in his being, in his personality.

This video is a session from the Ananda Spurana Convention which took place In New York USA. In this video Supreme Pontiff of Hinduism HDH #Nithyananda Paramashivam is talking to delegates about how comparing to others and working means we will never be satisfied and we will only be growing in the way the other person grows. When you compare and work again and again and again, you reduce your growth. You turn yourself in a different tune. You put your energy in a different way. You never grow as you are supposed to be. You never become as you are supposed to become. What you are supposed to become you never flower into that level. You grow in a level in which others wants you to grow. The tremendous energy source which is there in your throat center or the vishuddhi, if it is unlocked, if it is opened, you will have creativity or thinking style of your own. You will not bother. You will not worry what others think or what others move the way in which others move. You will have your own way to grow. You will have your own way to move in your life. Before entering into the meditation, we will have few minutes for question- answer. No question? Everybody has...yes.

(01:40)

Devotee: You said when babies are born, they are open to all the three levels of energy. How is this be this stone wall constructed?

(01:52)

Swamiji: Conditioning and bringing up. When you grow, you start imagining this much is only your energy. Actually children, if they are let jump or dance into the rain, nothing will happen to them; but father- mother, they teach, “No, no. You will get cold. Cough will catch you.” By continuously teaching, teaching, teaching, you make them feel that cough and cold. I was telling you na? I was staying in a tribal village in central India, Madhya Pradesh. The tribal village nobody gets delivery pain. They undergo painless delivery. Not one, many. I Myself was there. When I was staying, I saw a small hut is built in the center of the village. The lady is pregnant. She herself says the date. It’s not that somebody else predicts. She herself says, “Oh! This is the date I will give birth” and that date she comes.

(02:58)

She just walks in the small hut and no doctor, no assistant, no attendant. She herself takes care of the birth, delivery. She comes out of the room, hut with a beautiful baby, clean neat baby, that’s all. I was shocked. How could it happen? When I asked them, they said, “Why, why should we have pain? Why should we have pain?” The very idea never existed in them but for you, you are conditioned from the age, from your birth. There are so many things like these conditionings, like these things which are taught to you by the so-called bringing up. This conditioning only makes the wall. These conditionings are the mind or low self esteem which creates wall around you. That’s the only reason you feel you are bound. You let loose the connection with the divine. Yes?

(04:09)

Devotee: Yesterday You said there are fourteen hundred chakras in centers which are alive out of 72000 and we really don’t know how to take advantage of the rest of the centers.

(04:23)

Swamiji: Mooladhara chakra meditation. The meditation of that Dukha Harana will awaken all the energy centers. Devotee: Okay and these three layers of energy-the first layer and the second layer and the third layer they came to be for all three is vishuddhi chakra. Are there any the first layer of energy where is it located or… Swamiji: No, no, no, all the three layers meet in this vishuddhi, that’s all. Devotee: That’s all, okay.

(04:54)

Swamiji: Now, they did a neurological research on My neurological system. They did a PET scan and a EEG.They say, when I enter into the meditation, all the other parts of the neurological system, the part which is related to... the portion which is related to eyes, visualisation, the portion which is related to hearing, portion which is related to smell, everything is totally shut. Portion which is related to sex, everything, all the five are totally shut, silent but the frontal lobe-portion which is related to intelligence is active six times more than a normal being. Six times more than a normal being it is active, the frontal lobe. They asked, “What is happening inside, Swamiji?” I said, “Nothing, just the second layer and third layer energy.” When the second layer, third layer energy is awakened, of course, in no living being the all the 72000 energy centers can be awakened but the maximum energy centers will be awakened. That’s what they could find. More than six times, six times more than normal human beings, the frontal lobe is alive.

(06:16)

Devotee: What is the meaning of Gandha dwaram duradarsham Nithya pushtam kareeshineem in ...because that is the frontal lobe. That is the first one that develops in the brain when the brain is developing.

(06:24)

Swamiji: See, Gandha dwaram duradarsham nithya pushtam kareeshineem Eshwareem sarva bhutanam tam iha upah waye sriyam.

Whenever you enter into vishuddhi and anahata, you will get a special smell. That is what is called Gandha dwara. Vishuddhi, whenever you enter the vishuddhi, you will get a sandal and turmeric. When you enter the anahata, you will get a pure sandal smell. So when you penetrate the vishuddhi chakra, have you heard of the Black hole? Vishuddhi chakra is the Blackhole. Vishuddhi chakra is the blackhole. If you enter into the throat center, you will see the tremendous energy is unleashed. Vishuddhi is the place where the Blackhole happens and Big bang happens. Big bang and the Black hole are the… that is the same thing which you call srishti and pralaya. Srishti and pralaya only is called as Big bang and the blackhole and early morning as soon as you get up, the first thought you can see, it will start happening only from the throat because you are coming out of the blackhole. The Big bang is happening and penetrating also, you penetrate into the sleep only through the throat.

(07:48)

You just try one small thing. Lie down comfortably. Do everything but keep your throat straight. You can never sleep. If you just keep the throat straight. You see, lie down very clean. Have a pillow. Full bed comfortably. Just keep the throat straight instead of tilting. If you keep the throat straight, you can never sleep. If you let the throat relax, even by sitting you will sleep. Even by sitting, you will sleep because only through throat, you penetrate the sleep. The Black hole happens. Black hole is sleeping, big bang is waking up.

(08:30)

Devotee: What is the smell You were saying? Gandha… Swamiji: When you enter into the throat center with consciousness, you will get the sandal smell. That is what is called gandha dwara. These are all too mystical. Better don’t bother about it because you see, now itself many people could not understand because it is from Sri Suktam. First of all, I have to explain the Sri Suktam.

(08:53)

Devotee: but also the thing is… Swamiji: If you have not understood, don’t bother, forget about it.

Now let us enter into the meditation technique to work on throat center. This is a highly powerful technique. After this technique I will give you some more tips to use the throat center energy because this throat center energy can be used continuously wherever you are, whenever you want. If you are supposed to attend a interview or exam or a meeting, you feel drained. At those times, you can awaken this throat center which will tremendously help you to decide or to do your exam or to do your day-to-day activities. So all those tips I will give you after the meditation. Yes? (Devotee asks a question. Question not audible)

(01:25)

Swamiji: It is a worst conspiracy done to the kids. According to Me, it is the worst conspiracy done to the kids. No, in better humanity at least we will hope that kids will not be given the pressure or stress to compete with each other. The very root of competition, the very idea of competition is the basic instinct which creates violence in all of us. Violence is nothing but the byproduct of competition. The root of the violence, terrorism is already implanted in you in school. Schools are the reasons for all terrorism because there, already the violence is implanted. She has asked a right question. Of course, I have no answer. I have no answer.

(02:26)

Q: The best answer for the children it could we You just answered just about ten minutes back. Every person is unique, You excel…. Swamiji: But you know in schools we don't teach that. We actually rank. You see, kids should be given a rank card comparing their own progress. Last time if they made ten marks, this time if they make twelve marks, then rank. Rank should be given comparing to their results, not comparing to others results.

(03:00)

Q: Actually some schools, they removed the rank system. Swamiji: Of course, in our system also wherever we have influence, wherever our devotees are running school, we removed the rank system. Not only that, I am seriously working to remove the exam system. There should be no exams. Devotee: The other side of it is, it is a cycle based on competition. We can ideally say there would be no competition but the way the world exists right now…. Swamiji: You see, but it is not that we should not start working towards better society. We can start working towards a better society. I tell you, if the stress of the competition is reduced, we will excel something more, more, more. We will excel something far, far, far away. Each one will bring out his own creativity. We will have more things to enjoy in the world. We will have better humanity. We will have more beautiful people. We will have more alive Consciousness but now, as on now, 90% of our energy is wasted just in competing and pulling the others legs. You do not know how much of food is destroyed just to keep the food rate in the international market. Ships and ships, tons and tons of butter is destroyed every year by these so-called top level countries just to keep the rate of the food or to keep the market. Do you know all these things? Of course? Not only the food is destroyed, there are so many things are destroyed just to keep the market, just to keep the market rate. They put it in the ocean. The other side, lakhs, millions and millions of people are dying out of poverty. This side, just to keep their economy we are ready to do any criminal activity and we blame he is violent, he is terrorist, he is terrorist, he is violent. We blame the whole world but what are we doing? Again same violence in a different way. Hope you all understand.

(05:33)

Devotee: If there is no competition, we will become more lazy. Swamiji: No, you will become more creative. You will become more creative. You will be creative even in your laziness. You will know how to be lazy more nicely. So even in your laziness you will be creative. Laziness is nothing but the rest which you need after you created enough. It is like a low curve of creativity. We always have an anti idea about laziness. Creativity is the expression of laziness and laziness is the experience of creativity. It should be such a smooth curve, it should be able to go into the laziness also deeply and come out of the, come out to the creativity also beautifully. The peak and the valley, both should be totally complement to each other.

(06:31)

It is not that laziness and creativities are contradicting each other. They both are complement to each other. A man who can be totally lazy, only he can be totally creative. Man who can be totally celebrative only he can be totally meditative. Meditation and celebration, creativity and laziness, they are all complement to each other but we always think they are contradictory to each other…. I have seen many people. When they see Me dancing in the first day night, they just run away. Next day they never appear. I have seen many serious guys, “What type of Swami He is? Whirling so much!” Of course, when you listen to My discourses from morning till evening, you cannot imagine even in your dream that I will dance. Such a serious things I Am talking. Such a high philosophy and so much of knowledge, wisdom or intellect is pouring. You cannot imagine a person who is intellectual can be so simple, can be so innocent. You always think both are contradicting. Meditation and celebration are contradictory but I tell you, they both complement each other. A total meditator always celebrates totally. I have always seen, a man who meditates totally will always dance totally but we guys, in everything half, half. Anybody who has not danced yesterday or who has not participated, you will see that you will be tired. If you have danced yesterday night, you will not be tired today morning. You will be fresh, alive. You will be active. Am I right? What happened? Devotee: I lost my voice.

(08:26)

Swamiji: I think traveling in the night rain going from here to there. That is why, in India, we don't let the people move out. We make them stay there itself in one place. The Mughal kings who never…. I call the people who don't dance as mughal kings. Mughal kings, they don't dance. They just sit and watch. Devotee: That is against their religion I think. Muslims they don’t dance. Swamiji: Why then they watch dancing others? Why do they watch dancing others? You see, you can watch and you can't dance. What type of idea? You see, watching others dancing is ugly, sexual. You dancing is more alive, active, spiritual. You see, both have a got deep meaning Ma. Watching others is cerebral.

(09:23)

Devotee: No, that court dance is simply you know, for pleasure. Swamiji: You see, watching others is ugly. When you participate, it has got beauty, innocence and joy. You are expressing but just watching others is ugly. It is a cunningness. So be very clear, if you look little deeply into this phenomenon, you will understand, watching others is just cerebral. You are enjoying cerebrally. So I don't think....

(09:56)

Devotee: Music and dance, they don’t have any rule in Islam. Swamiji: Is it so? I don’t think. No, Sufism is full of dance and music. Not only that, Tansen, Akbar’s musician, court musician. Fundamentalist. In fundamentalism... Any religion fundamentalism means foolishness. In any religion, not only Islam, in any religion, fundamentalism means foolishness, that's all. Sadists are fundamentalists. All fundamentalists, when I say all, I mean capital letter A L L. All fundamentalists are sadists, torturing others, getting joy by torturing others. That is what I call sadism.

(10:59)

Devotee: Swamiji, for this Vishuddhi Chakra as you had explained from muladhara it is going upward. Can we practice these meditations in any order? Swamiji: Yes, any order. They are all totally individual, independent from other chakras. Don't think all the seven chakras are separate compartments. They are all interrelated, interconnected. If you work on one chakra deeply, that will awaken even all other chakras, you understand? All are interconnected. If you work on one chakra deeply, then you will see all the seven chakras get awakened. It is like a door to same hall, seven doors. Let us enter into the meditation, vishuddhi chakra. Then your throat will become alright now…. Strange thing. I never hear any people telling Me that they are tired next day morning first time. Tired? Devotee: We have energy. It is just we have lost our voice. Swamiji: Mental attitude that if you don't sleep you will be tired. That attitude, nothing else you see that training, nothing else.

(12:29)

Devotee: I was actually going to ask You about sleep. I believe that sleep is so very important like mentally I feel like, “oh my God! I am not sleeping. It is time to sleep.” How much should we sleep? Swamiji: Maximum two hours is more than enough for normal human beings. What do you mean two hours? Every two hours or what? You see, one man came to Me and asked for the solution for obesity. I told him, “Have two Idlis morning, one roti in the noon time, one square meal in the night time.” He asked Me, “All these things before food or after food?” Like this, in twenty four hours, two hours sleep is more than enough.

(13:22)

Devotee: Our yoga teacher says that. He says he sleeps only one and half to two hours every night. Swamiji: Practically you will see that in My life because twenty two hours I am out. You can see Me twenty two hours. Around morning 5:30 till night 2:30, everyday you can see Me out. I will be in the public. So it is verily possible. Only thing, there is a small technique. A particular two hours of your sleep time, your body temperature falls two degree. If you can make somebody to find out once in two hours they should check. You see, just three days. Three days everyday, once in two hours somebody should check your body temperature and in three days you can find out which two hours your body temperature falls by two degree. That two hours if you sleep, that is more than enough. That is the technique to find out what is the time for your body to rest.

(14:28)

For somebody it will be Chandramana. For somebody it will be Souramana. Souramana means early morning when the sun rises, they will be more active. That time they won't get sleep. Chandramana means when the moon rises, that time they want to sleep. That time they will be more active. That time they cannot sleep. The man who is Chandramaana will be active with the moon. The man who is Souramaani will be active with the sun. If you are a Chandramaani you should sleep early morning. If you are Souramaani, you should sleep late night, in the evening itself.

(15:04)

Devotee: You say early morning Swami, what is that early morning mean? Swami: Early morning? Devotee: Yeah, what is early morning? Time? Swamiji: Around some four to six. Devotee: Ok Swamiji: Somebody came and told Me, “Swamiji, I get sleep both the time. What to do? What Maani I am? I told, “You are avamaani. Some are chandramani. Some are souramani. Some are avamaani. If you get sleep both the time, you are avamaani.

(15:29)

Devotee: I frequently fall sleepy during or after lunch Swamiji: No, no, no, no, no. That is avamaana only. No way the daytime sleep should be accepted. Day time sleep is simple Devotee: laziness? Swamiji: No, no, no. Laziness is a beautiful word. Don't use that word. It is abusing that word. What to say, abusing your body, abusing your time, abusing your energy. Day time sleep is nothing but abusing your energy. Laziness is not abusing your energy. Even in laziness there is a beauty. You relax. You let your body to go into itself. You have your own aloneness. You have your own space. Having your own space can be laziness, nothing wrong but abusing your time and abusing your energy. Noon time sleep and all you can see, you will never feel fresh. You will feel only guilt that you wasted your time. Rolling on the bed, only dreaming, not even sleeping. If the quantity of your sleep is more, the quality of the sleep will not be there. If you reduce the quantity, time, the quality will become more. The depth will become more. You will not have more dreams.

(16:50)

Devotee: If we have no dream, do we have sleep? Swamiji: Yes the quantity will not be necessary too much. You are really intelligent guy. People who don't get much sleep, much dream, they will be more intelligent because they will not have daydreams. Daydream and night dream are very closely related. If you don't have daydream, you will not have night dreams. Ok, let us enter into the meditation. Devotee: Where is theThroat chakra? Swamiji: Throat area. This area. Not the front or back, this is the area. Actually for some people it will be even outer the body. This is the area you are supposed to concentrate. That much if you understand that is enough.

Let Me give the meditation instruction, this is from Zen Buddhism. Actually the course is designed such a way; the yesterday’s four meditations will open the first layer. Night singing and dancing will open the second layer. Now again you are going to do so many meditations that will open the third layer... Now you are going to run with yourself... You know running with others’, now you will run with yourself to awaken the throat center.

(0:45)

Understand the four instruction; first thing, you are going to jog wherever you stand, wherever you stand, the standing place itself you will jog; not mentally, physically. Jog in place. Next thing, throughout the meditation you will be having concentration on the throat, you will concentrate on the throat.

(1:12)

Third instruction: slowly, slowly, slowly you should only increase the speed, you should never decrease it... Fourth thing, whenever your mind says, ‘I’m tired, I cannot do’, say clear ‘NO’ to your mind. ‘NO, you will do!’ Because when you say No to your mind, whenever you say No to your mind, you will break that godjetti walls. The godjetti wall is nothing but your mind. So when you say No, you put one hammer on that godjetti wall. Break the godjetti wall by saying ‘No’ to your mind. Understand? Slowly, slowly, slowly, you will increase the speed. I’ll guide you to increase the speed; you can never reduce the speed, you can only increase, increase, increase; you will feel that I will fall, I’m going to faint, and fall.’ Don’t bother, faint and fall, we are here to take care. We will sprinkle little water and make you again run!

(2:12)

Don’t think by fainting once you can escape from the meditation, No! First concentrate on the throat, start running, throughout the meditation, just twenty minutes. You will run, but you cannot reduce the speed, you can only increase the speed. You don’t have to bother about others; you will increase the speed comparing with yourself. Now it is ten miles then eleven, twelve, thirteen. Slowly, slowly increase; nothing wrong! But you can only increase the speed; and, whenever you feel you are tired, you are drained, concentrate on the throat, you will see that tremendous energy is flooded throughout your body from the throat; from the vishuddhi chakra. Fourth thing, when your mind says ‘I’m tired’, simply say ‘NO’ to your mind. Let you be possessed by running. Starting, you will start running; after few minutes, running will possess you. Something from Apurva! What is the question? ‘Yes you can jump, chewing gum? No gum at the time of meditation. These guys, You stop this habit, continuously chewing that is a one reason for obesity.

(3:38)

I was telling you, whenever you want to use the throat center's energy, see generally even if you walk for five minutes… So many, so much of jogging you did; see all of you are sitting... Whenever you want this energy of throat center for your day-to-day life, have a piece of gold; either your ring or your chain, or if you are using our mala, the locket, ‘anyone who is using our mala?’ Then just keep the locket on the throat. Meditate, just for ten, twenty seconds, meditate, just concentrate on that region, ten to twenty seconds, you will see that gush of energy happening to your being; gold or our locket, any piece of gold or diamond, or our locket will awaken the energy center.

(4:40)

In our last session, energy darshan, you can energies your ring, if you have a ring or chain you can give it to Me; I’ll energies and give you. If you keep that piece, the energized metal on the throat chakra, it will awakened. So whenever you are going to attend an interview or exam, or some serious meeting, where you need more alertness, more energy, more centeredness; before entering, just ten seconds, ten to twenty seconds, you will see that literally, and one more thing, I don’t speak anything that is not true, I don’t speak anything which is not true; I am not telling you stories! If I want to tell stories, I can tell! What I am telling is a totally proved technique, not only from My experience, thousands of devotees’ experience. So, whenever you want energy of vishuddhi, just keep and meditate for ten minutes, ten seconds, ten to twenty seconds, you will see that energy is flooded into your system. Go ahead, do your routine, you will see, you will always be doing more than what you want. This chakra is the master of anger, master of hunger and thirst and not anger. (audience speaks) You have tremendous energy inside you. But when you open that energy, that will make you to work more beautifully, more actively.

(6:25)

Don’t think that, actually using your energy is real way. (audience) What are you asking? You understand totally wrongly... You see it is your energy you are using. How do you say it is a shortcut? (audience) No, once you open your vishuddhi chakra, it is always available to you. Don’t think the vishuddhi chakra gets locked. It is always, always available to you. First time you need to meditate, because you have not used it for a long time. So it is not the tomorrow, it is not going to get locked No; It’ll open! You can use that any time, this also you have not used at all for a long time, that is why you are made to meditate.

(7:15)

Otherwise vishuddhi never gets locked. (audience speaks) That will tremendously help you to get be again align; especially the night time, evening time, if you are tired, dull, bored, but your husband is calling for a party, or wife is pulling you, come, come let us to go to the party, you say you are tired. If you go to the party with a tired mood, what will you enjoy? You’ll only eat others’ head, and jump on the others. Just burn. You will feel only irritated. In those moments if you concentrate on the vishuddhi, you’ll be rejuvenated, so that you’ll be able to live your life, live your moments... And whenever you want to study, especially for students, vishuddhi will tremendously help. The word ‘Laxmana’ itself is from vishuddhi chakra, the vishuddhi chakra has got one more name ‘Lakshya’. Man whose mind ‘manas’ is established in the ‘Lakshya’ is the vishuddhi is ‘Laxmana’. (audience speak) Starting it will be getting cleansed, don’t worry about it. ’
