Panguni Uttiram festival at Maran — at Sri Marathandavar Bala Dhandayuthapani Alayam, Maran (pahang)

Sri Marathandavar Bala Dhandayuthapani Alayam is a temple located in the Maran District of Pahang, Malaysia. The temple celebrated its annual Panguni Uttiram festival on Sunday, 24 March 2024. Situated amidst palm oil and rubber plantations, the temple is rather secluded.

About 120 years ago, during the construction of a road from Kuala Lumpur to Kuantan, a significant event occurred. As workers felled many trees to clear the path, one particular rudraksha tree began to bleed as if wounded when it was being cut. Although many years have passed since this incident, and the rudraksha tree is now dead, its remains are preserved in the inner sanctum of the temple. For historical evidence of this temple, resources are available at the following links:-

Kailasa Malaysia participated in the annual Panguni Uttiram festival by setting up a booth on Sunday, serving 6000 cups of panagam and breakfast to 750 of the temple's patrons. This temple attracts visitors from various parts of Malaysia, including Penang, Johor, Negeri Sembilan, Selangor, Kuala Lumpur, and locations within Pahang. The festival's most sacred aspect was the participation of more than 1,500 pada yatra (foot pilgrimage) devotees who walked from Batu Caves in Kuala Lumpur and other parts of Pahang to reach the temple. Some of them walked for 3 to 4 days, spending nights at local temples along their journey to Maran. This temple draws Murugan Bakta (devotees of Lord Murugan) to its annual festival. This temple also serves on a daily basis.

During the festival, hundreds of devotees carried the pakudam to offer to Lord Muruga. Many groups got together and marched to the temple with chanting "vel vel." It was a sight of devotion among everyone.

During the event, Kailasa Malaysia distributed copies of the Tamil Bhagavad Gita to patrons. The temple committee and its president provided full support throughout the period the Kailasa Malaysia team was at the temple.

Kailasa's Hindu Voting

Today, in another significant milestone for Hindus worldwide, the United Nations published a 15th report from KAILASA on the impact of loss and damage from the adverse effects of climate change on human rights. This advancing collaboration between Hindus and the UN is a promising sign for the situation of Hindus and the protection of the ancient indigenous Hindu civilization.

Should KAILASA ecosystems worldwide introduce the science of influencing the climate through consciousness and Earth-centric lifestyle solutions revealed by THE SPH as a global lifestyle for humanity?
