November 26, 2023 - KAILASA Celebrates Karthigai Deepam on the Last Day of the Nithyanandeshwara Paramashiva Brahmotsavam

On this tenth and final day of the Nithyanandeshwara Paramashiva Brahmotsavam, KAILASA joyfully shares the essence of the grand rituals and ceremonies offered by its global temples.

The Nithyanandeshwara Paramashiva Brahmotsavam, replicating the ancient Karthigai Deepam Brahmotsavam of KAILASA’s Arunachaleshwara temple in Tiruvannamalai, stands as one of KAILASA’s main festivals—an unbroken tradition among the world’s most ancient religious celebrations.

On the final day of the Nithyanandeswara Paramashiva Brahmotsavam, KAILASA, in conjunction with the Arunachaleshwara temple in Tiruvannamalai, conducted the Maha Deepam, marking the pinnacle of the ten-day celebration. This ritual, merging the lamps from the morning Bharani Deepam festival into the cosmic effulgence of Paramashiva, symbolizes the profound oneness of the cosmos with its creator. Simultaneously, atop Arunachala Hill, a grand lamp illuminated for 11 days echoes the divine luminosity initiated during the Karthigai Deepam Festival.

The Karthigai Deepam Festival signifies the morning manifestation of the cosmos by Paramashiva and His evening presence as the Tejolinga. The Maha Deepam, lit on Arunachala Hill, culminates in the celebration of oneness with Paramashiva. During this sacred lighting, reminiscent of the moment when Paramashiva granted enlightenment to Paramashivashakti, Ardhanareeshwara manifested—embodying both masculine and feminine aspects. This cosmic manifestation underscores the ultimate truth that we are all beyond gender identity, resonating with the transcendental gender of Paramashiva.

Observing these divine events, where the cosmos unites in celebration of Paramashiva, has the profound potential to elevate all beings to the same space of oneness with the divine.

Additionally, the daily ceremonies and rituals in honor of Lord Shiva—Bhagavan Nithyanandeshwara Paramashiva were performed. Abhishekam, Alankaram, Deeparathana, and two Yagashala Pujas were meticulously conducted in adherence to the ancient Agamic injunctions laid out by Paramashiva.

Supervised by the Supreme Pontiff of Hinduism, the day's rituals were broadcast live on over 534 social media handles and web televisions worldwide.

Alongside the festival, KAILASA Tiruvannamalai continues to offer free medicinal food to thousands of devotees and visitors as part of the Aushada Annadhan initiative launched by the Supreme Pontiff of Hinduism in Sri Nithyananda Jenmabhoomi as well as KAILASA Tiruvannamalai’s main premises. On this day alone, KAILASA has distributed over 100,000 free meals, and the count continues to rise.

Life itself is the ultimate goal, and misconstruing purposes leads to bondage. Jeevan Mukta, a liberated being, finds fulfillment within, independent of external sources. Life gains profound meaning when lived in the awareness of its purposelessness.

SESSION 4
The idea that there is no enlightenment serves as a technique to facilitate enlightenment itself. Enlightenment is not a distant goal but the very path we tread. True desire is without an object. The identity we cling to is illusory; our automatic intelligence can effectively manage our lives. Let go of psychological burdens, fears, and greed, trusting in the innate intelligence that can run our lives with ease.

SESSION 5
Our minds naturally let go of thoughts one after another without a clear link between them. When we build ideas about life being joyful or painful, we create something called the mind. Bliss comes effortlessly when we're relaxed and not making specific choices. However, actively pursuing bliss can hinder the experience, as constant concern gets in the way of it happening naturally.

SESSION 6
When a thought arises, refrain from supporting, encouraging, or entertaining it. Relax and let it pass without getting involved. By unclutching from thoughts, you experience freedom from the identities you create. Buddha emphasizes that the original mind is Nirvana, and the mind, as it naturally occurs, is already unclutched. Unclutching extends to both luxury and existential activities, ensuring your body performs necessary functions without the stress associated with them. This practice leads to a state of mental and emotional freedom.

Vaikuntha is Vishnu's abode, Sripuram is Parameshwari's, KAILĀSA is Paramaśiva's realm with form, and Mahakailasa is Paramaśiva's pure formless space, transcending form and formlessness. In Mahakailasa, Paramaśiva exists as an intense life, bringing ecstasy even in meditation.
